lets pretend this is true and exactly 0% of the gold bought for a gdkp leaks out to the wider economy (its not).
how is a significant part of that 100k likely generated? by bots, farming materials, which they then go the AH to sell, crushing the price of those materials.
this is why arcane crystals dropped to 20g when zg came out in vanilla classic, all the botters started hacking under the map to get to the nodes and crushed the price through oversupply.
now if we remove the ability to buy gear, nobody has any real incentive to buy huge amounts of gold, thus less bots are needed to meet demand, and if there are more bots than needed, the botters profit margins will start getting crushed.
bots are not free to run, beyond a certain point the botters will start moving to other servers/games that have a larger pool of whale buyers available and much more incentive to buy gold (gdkp gear)
