nobody is claiming it will. removing a primary driver of rmt will lower demand hugely, but it certainly wont stop gold buying fully
even more people overall will buy gold if they ban gdkps because the people who used to buy gold to fund consumes, but rotated to instead receiving rmt inflated gdkp payouts because its safer and basically free for them outside the time they put into the run will return to buying gold for consumes.
but even though more people overall are buying, without the incentive of gear to drive buying large amounts, the total amount purchased will be much lower when taken as a whole because there will be no gold sink outside consumes to drive demand.
yes, but as a gold seller you want one whale who will buy 100k to gear out his freshly boosted alt, not 40 people who buy 1k to fund consumes.
thats the point, more people will buy, but in much smaller amounts, thus the gold sellers make less money overall, plus they will have to do more transactions to earn the same amount, potentially exposing them to more risk of a ban
I would argue that bots would prefer consistency over large infrequent purchases. Also, 100k? Lmao, dude GDKP in SoD is 5g for MOST items. 20g for epics. 100g is very high for a bid. 1k gold is a whale 4 times over.
im using the scales of gold era is at, because this system has played out to its end state there and can be used as an example of a how a server with no restriction on GDKP will play out
we arnet even 60 yet on sod, nobody is gonna throw around huge amounts of gold for loot that will be gone before we even hit max level.
That might be your argument but thatâs not the argument brought by most of the anti-GDKP folks in this thread. And if thatâs the argument, it makes the ban even less palatable because there is plenty of time to fix the actual problem.
Iâd like to suggest you take the solution into your own hands. Develop the addon that reads warcraftlogs and awards everyone participation points for each boss they kill, that way the system is fair and balanced for everyone. Include protections against all the ways people can game a DKP system like that - Iâm sure youâve put a lot of thought into it though, you can figure it out.
Then convince people to actually use it.
We ran 4-5 for every lockout until ppl got bored and we trimmed and we trimmed.
10 man content is not engaging and limits loot competition so people get geared fast and get bored.
We need something that brings a guild together. An actual goal. An opportunity to see and engage with the guildies that arenât just the ones in our run. And 3 days leads to crazy scheduling and roster rotations that are annoying af for all. It forces drop in raiding instead of a set time.
