I have personally seen a whale sit there and drop $20k on gear over the course of vanilla, acting like if the money to gear pipeline is a thing people just wont take advantage of it is totally asinine.

its undeniable that i have sat there and watched a whale dump 20k into gold to buy gear in wow, i have and i could post screenshots of him posting his transactions to the social disc we all used to hang out in if i cared to scroll back far enough.
its undeniable that in every MMO that has allowed p2w officially, whaling has become the defacto way to win the game. log into almost any smaller MMO and youll see it in action.
You’re distorting RMT and bots into GDKP and acting like by actioning GDKP you are addressing RMT and bots. That help?
they are, just not in a way thay will entirely solve the problem.
its not a binary thing, there is a sliding scale of measures they can take to combat RMT, this is the one they are both ABLE and WILLING to deploy.
just because blizz is not willing to go nuclear and permaban the gold buyers (which they should) does not mean they should do nothing

What doesnt come across as serious? It seems much more fair for everyone that wants to participate, and it addresses the glaring flaws of your emblem system that you clearly haven’t thought enough about.

I already have asked about the flaws in this thread multiple times, but sure. Why would a latecomer ever opt into your system when they will get nothing from pugs for weeks? Why wouldnt guilds game this system by turning it on to gain as many emblems as possible while spending the absolute minimum so that their members can have an advantage over everyone else that isnt? You invented a system like DKP but didnt bother to explore the reasons people do not use DKP - it makes you look like you just want a different unfair advantage over people.
How is this any different than gold? Also, they can simply run MS>OS if they prefer, and get emblems at the same time!
Emblems in this example only drop from boss kills. I dont know what you are talking about. Are you talking about distribution of the emblem bids? Those still have to come from boss kills.

Yes, from boss kills. And if you dont even have to spend them and participate to earn them it’s completely unfair and enables stockpiling both emblems and loot at the same time. Do you actually understand how DKP works and why it usually fails? You haven’t even attempted to show that you have a grip on the flaws of DKP much less this half baked EDKP idea.
Would there be fractional emblem payouts, or would it round up/down? Would there be decay?
