I feel we’ll see this toxic behavior come early in P2… lucky for myself I have friends to raid with, we just grab a few pugs, soft reserve and go.
We circle back to the discussion of removing player agency in the name of making it easier to enforce the TOS, it’s not a good thing.
nobody cares about your agency if it harms the game for others, era is right over there if you just cant live without your RMT loot system
basically the rest of that comes down to “WAHHH BAN BOTS/GOLD BUYERS NOT GDKP” which i agree with, but blizz has proven unwilling to take the measures to actually do. Short of that this is the next best option blizz is actually willing to implement, so im all for it
remember to report all gdkp CRIME after the 8th friends
You need to take some medicine or something man… you’re so uptight and angry.
If that is all you can comprehend, then sure buddy.
oh no, i am thoroughly enjoying the great gdkp enjoyer salt flow of 2024. its like Christmas came early on the SoD forums
Whatever you gotta tell yourself bud.
So how did RMT being used to fund GDKP (the reason for this GDKP ban) result in Era flasks costing 800g? Flasks are sold on the AH, not in GDKPs.
What’s that got to do with GDKP? That sounds like a bot and RMT problem to me. Maybe you should focus on bots and RMT.
The obvious reason they are being banned is because they are a huge funnel for RMT. You wanna reduce bots stop running GDKPs. Unfortunately people are like crabs in a boiling pot and just say “well it isnt happening on my server”
I have 2 wives, 3 jobs and 7.5 kids…
I can only do GDKP for time reasons yet somehow I got geared enough to be a carry in GDKP without buying gold and in GDKP I make gold coz I carry in GDKP, but I don’t need the gold coz I am geared already… Trust me bro, i’m legit.
I need GDKP so I can’t be out rolled for gear by someone else who doesn’t deserve it as much as me. I mean, doing a raid without getting any gear is simply a waste of time. No chance someone has more gold to spend than I do! Remember I made all my gold in GDKP…
I farmed gold legit… Before the 2nd wife and1.5 jobs I had more time to farm gold. Was about 10 weeks ago.
Banning gdkp will inflate gold even more lol , people will now start using mats or raid consumes as currencies to auction off for loot like a barter system. You want the gold system. Start perma banning gold buyers see how fast issue is fixed.
The alternative solution is to stop buying gold, raid for fun and enjoy the game. The way it was intended.
Im with you man, I plan to just make sr runs and hr 2-3 items or invite noone who shares my loot type. Imagine being happy going through a raid losing 6 rolls, and all to people who are absolute dumpster fire players. They need to either go to personal loot, or stay out of player created content like gdkp’s.
and all to people who are absolute dumpster fire players.
he said, from behind a toon with no logs to speak of
There’s a very simple solution that will solve both the OP’s concerns as well as Blizzard’s related to RMT.
Any person that obtains gold via RMT and any associated activities gets banned. So if player A goes to a GDKP and spends gold, and later Blizzard finds out that that the gold was made through a RMT, ALL players who earned gold in the pot are banned.
Then, the community will adapt to verifying its GDKP player-bases against RMT on its own or risk their own bans for choosing their loot system.
Any person that obtains gold via RMT and any associated activities gets banned.
you post black lotus on the AH
person who RMT’d gold buys lotus
you get banned under this idea?
the actual solution is just permaban the buyers.
once the gold is spent there isnt really much you can do unless it was spent in a GDKP and you can confirm the other players who received it were also involved in the GDKP.
if the gold gets to the AH or is used to buy a BoE or something after that there really isnt much to be done to claw it back without screwing over an innocent player who just wanted to sell their mats/boe that dropped.
I don’t think you can really speak for the community stating they choose GDKP. As you stated it is the path of least resistance or perhaps the best choice given the circumstances. It has been brought to light many times before- that GDKP in a perfect world is fine, good, and dandy. But we do not live in that perfect world. This is an experiment- we will see how it pans out- but there many games and a time in wow where GDKPs don’t exist and were not as prevalent. I don’t know what the best solution going forward for you and your guild is… but it should be a great challenge and in the end is up to you to resolve and the reason you must is because you are in the minority and caught in the crossfire of RMT, I have faith you will find a solution. Good luck.
love being in the last week of phase 1, and getting dusted by kelris in a pug and someone leaves after first attempt. Now Im locked to a Raid ID for 3 days, and still have never seen my desired loot.
GDKPs have flaws, like gold buying. But this is a 20 year old game being recycled for the second time, and we’re still fighting ninja looters, rage quitters and griefers.
We’re going into phase two, which mark my words will be one of the worst phases in regards to the shear amount of world pvp, ganking at FP’s outside sanctuary zones.
Yet we’re choosing to remove a loot system that keeps everyone til the very end, and prevents ninja looting habits and allows for casuals to compete with the elitists and streamers who receieve handouts.
Streamers get handed gold, and gear constantly as hand outs and they’re able to just run around griefing players for content, meanwhile you’re crippling the casual player base who just want the opportunity to at least compete.
Your solution is to force guild groups, without acknowledging updating loot system. Personal loot, etc.
Maybe just stick to banning gold buying and botters and leave the gdkps alone
What you do screws up the AH and gets people doing RTM for money. I hope you get banned to. Your as bad as bots
Where did I ever say anything implying that people were doing this against their will?
No one thinks that people are forced into pay to win. We don’t like the fact that gold is used as the metric for who gets the most powerful gear out of a run. Being forced has nothing to do with it.
Oh the irony
