If you think a person can’t take a stand on an issue, because there are “other issues” out there - get real - this is planet earth. Think about the logical flow of what you’re suggesting: if a person doesn’t take a stand against everything bad, they can’t make a stand against anything lest they be called a hypocrite. It’s ridiculous. You gave the iPhone as an example, but that’s the basic flow of your flawed reasoning.
That’s not how the world has ever worked - but it is a good recipe to try to get people to take no action - on ANYTHING.

Anyone who asks why you’re not going after handguns, which represent the majority of the problem are “whatabouters”. And anyone who speculates that the end goal may not just be “assault rifles”, but in fact most or all guns, but “assault rifles” are simply being used as a first step because it’s easy to garner support over by using mass shootings? Perhaps they’ll start small because people are more likely to accept gradual change, and because people are not always forthcoming with their intentions? CONSPIRACY THEORIST.

Again, it comes down to picking your battles. World of Warcraft is a GAME meant for entertainment, not a lifeline to the outside world. I don’t like the healthcare system in this country either, does that mean I’m not going to the doctor’s? No. It means I only have so many resources, as a nobody, that I can levy against big business. My livelihood depends on my computer, I work from home. My livelihood does not depend on WoW.
You can have consistency when you compare two comparable items.
It’s rather funny, because they’ve been put in an uncomfortable position.
On the one hand, they hate massive companies who cheat taxes, billionaires, and wealth disparity. For-profit business in general. They want regulation over nearly every industry, and more of it.
On the other, Trump’s crusade against Silicon Valley has them running to the defense of these same companies in an effort to be a Trump-contrarian, saying “private enterprise” and “capitalism”.
It’s a fun contradiction to see play out.
