By not doing arena, I limit myself because I don’t have access to BIS PVP gear. That’s ok though, because I’d rather have slightly worse gear than do arena. Meanwhile, dungeon bosses drop the same loot whether you use group finder or form a group manually. My choice puts me at a disadvantage, yours does not.
You can always group up with your guild or friends if you don’t want to queue with randoms. You have a choice, stop trying to take away mine.

It is absolutely not. It’s not even close. They are building a new metro train and a group of people are saying “I like to ride my bike to work”. Telling them to go ahead and ride their bike to work if they don’t want to ride the train is not dismissing their criticism.
Your suggestion is “Just don’t do Dungeons”. Which is a non-starter for pretty much everyone.
Your choice will, within a few months, invalidate everyone else’s because of network effect.

Retail has 99 problems, but LFD isn’t one of them.

Yes, I have friends that went back to Retail because the Classic grind was too much for them. LFD might be enough to bring them back.

Doesn’t sound like it’s been all sunshine and rainbow with the automated systems.
LFR encounters have had to be massively nerfed to the point of being faceroll because people have no concept of coordination or mechanics and just want their badgers and done.

Yes, and since no one seems eager for Cata Classic, LFR is a non issue.

Just stack Determination. This is the way.
I don’t want a “better” version, I want the exact same version I played in 2009-10.

Oh? How did they obtain those?
How exactly does LFD prevent you from grouping up with your guild and friends to do dungeons? Be specific.

Uh if you unaware, they actually own the game and conduct surveys for every ticket, email, reason for unsub

So you think there were plenty of unsubs during TBC, before Wrath was ever announced, that said “I’m unsubbing well ahead of Wrath several months before TBC ends because Wrath has LFD”
?
Nobody knows what stats blizzard as, but they no reason to remove LFD without good cause.
hahaha, I’ve discovered that it doesn’t matter which side of the fence we sit on some will always have us in the “bad guy” camp. Campaigners gonna campaign. Open minded discussion is the enemy of a petition.
I think you and I are quite similar in how we treat arguments. It’s a way to crystallise our understanding of the issue and form opinion. It’s iterative. We argue for a position not to troll, and not because we’re certain but to help us test that positions merits.
I suspect my position is correct but I don’t know. That’s exactly why I am interested in putting it forward and having people challenge it - to test it. I think you do similar.
I’ve come down on my end of the issue mainly due to the fact that I was never sold on Zyrius’ narrow and seemingly self serving definition of #nochanges vs #somechanges. It’s simply not a factor in my orientation on this topic. I use the same heuristic I always used. If the feature works as the original devs intended according to their design goals, it should be in. I support some changes but only where they align with or enhance the original design vision. Thus, LFG should be included in WoTLKC on the same timeline - as it was originally.
The compromises I’m interested in are those that seek to preserve the design intent. Omission of the feature in no way conforms to that imo.
But, as discussed - I’m testing that heuristic in putting it out there for argument. I’m not committed to it. It does strengthen the more it gets tested and holds up though.
Oh maybe Blizzard has stats that read people’s minds, since they never once asked us a single question about LFD.
I bet that’s it.
