I’m really surprised how many of you keep leaning on this fallacy to make your points, and honestly it’s getting bothersome so I want to take a moment to explain why this statement or anything similar is actually an invalid argument.
“If you don’t like it, don’t use it” is part of an informal fallacy group that is also a sub-grouping to ad hominems (due to assuming poor intention of the critic).
Argumentum Ergo Decedo
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ergo_decedo
Essentially, it means you are dismissing a criticism of a thing due to a perceived bias (in the speaker) against said thing, and therefore you suggest the speaker should simply leave/avoid said thing.
It indicates a lack of desire or ingenuity that might be necessary to engage on the subject or acknowledge the criticism made.
In this case, those who are happy with the exclusion of RDF are not against RDF because they suddenly would be forced to use it. They believe that its mere existence hurts aspects of the game that should be protected, meaning that whether or not they use it is irrelevant to their argument. The commonly held belief is that it simply being there and people who want to use it, using it, affects the game. There is credence to this idea, given Blizzards explanation for why they wanted to remove it.
Please avoid using informal fallacies when making your case for RDF, it’s possible your arguments would be more palatable to your opponents (those celebrating a good change, in their eyes) if so.

This thread is just going to go soo well.

Technically nobody will be able to use it, but for the sake of argument I’ll do you a favor and let you assert your points under the presumption that it being re-implemented is possible.

I don’t really care who uses it or not, I just think it was in original wrath so it needs to be in wrath classic.

Unfortunately Classic is no longer developed under a #nochanges philosophy. It’s best we move on from this argument, too.

Why would we move on when we’re still far away from release and Blizzard may still listen to feedback?

What data is available to measure the desires of the community?

I’m not asking you to move on from arguing for RDF, just pointing out invalid or flawed arguments that you are using to campaign for it.
“We just want Wrath the way it was” is clearly not a valid argument because #nochanges is no longer and frankly hasn’t been a thing for a long time, so it brings nothing to the table.

And Zipzo has had this beat into him on these forums many times over.

Well that is your opinion, but I don’t think it’s invalid. Even if we acknowledge #somechanges is a thing, the removal of lfd is HUGE, maybe the biggest change in classic up to this point? It’s too big of a change.

This isn’t optional. It is a thing. That’s the way things are.
So you think that the perceived “impact” of the change is on a scale that “#somechanges” does not adequately prepare the community for and thus is an overstep?

I do think it would be an overstep if it happened, and there is really no evidence that the majority of players want it to happen.

Zipzo on Dual Spec in TBCC: “#NOCHANGES MEANS #NOCHANGES HOW MANY THREADS DO WE NEED ON THIS I WILL POST NO LESS THAN 300 COMMENTS ON THiS TOPIC”
Zipzo on Not Including LFD in WoTLKC: “#NOCHANGES IS DEAD. I CANT GET OVER HOW SO MANY IF YOU CANT ACCEPT THAT LFD WILL NOT BE INCLUDED IN WOTLKC. I REPEAT #NOCHANGES IS DEAD NOW DEAL WITH IT WHILE I CREATE A NEW THREAD EXPRESSING MY FRUSTRATIONS THAT YOU PEOPLE WONT ACCEPT #NOCHANGES IS DEAD AND THERE WILL BE NO LFD IN WOTLKC.”

oh the turn tables.
Are you saying you don’t believe in it?
Its not a religion, its something that’s already happened.
its really not. When did it come into play again?
because?
gonna be funny to see you find a quote for that.
If you don’t like it, don’t use it.

You mean hypothetically don’t use it if several unlikely variables mash together to create a scenario where Blizzard reverses course even though they said they are unlikely to be swayed on this particular matter despite acknowledging that it’s contentious?
It would indeed. It would allow us to log on and hop in the queue, then do other things in the world (community!) without the need to constantly monitor an addon filled with boosters and gdkp spam. It would allow lower level dungeons to, you know, exist. It would not take anything away from you or anyone else.
So in summary, if you don’t like it don’t use it.

RDF is so unpopular, if it is implemented everyone will use it!
