"If you don't like it, don't use it"

Disagree, I think having to do this is better for the type of community “Classic” wants to cultivate. Even Blizzard stated this, almost exactly regarding this same exact thing, during their announcement of WOTLK-C.

See? I see one of your downsides as an actual upside, and so does Blizzard.

You might have to stop thinking that everything you personally feel is an objective fact, it’s getting in the way of you pretty much ever being right about anything (see: the dual spec debate).

Actually it’s not blizzard has specifically mentioned cross server and teleportation as their issues with LFD. Not that trying to find a group as DPS is just generally a bad experience.

And yes not staring at a chat screen/add on for 30+ minutes is an objectively better experience.

Nope, Blizz openly said at the announcement they want to maintain the experience of “spamming lfg for 30 minutes looking for a tank”. Like, I don’t want to have to go and quote it directly, but it’s pretty much near exactly what they mentioned.

I wanted to maintain that too, back in original WOTLK. Now I will get my chance to see it be maintained. Lucky me.

Actually they didn’t.

It’s not surprising that it’s always people who tank/heal who think it’s just fine.

I agree with this not only because of the time but because people use LFG chat as a place to complain about world events and to yell at each other (I am putting that lightly) which makes forming groups even more difficult when that is going on. It also can reduce the amount of people willing to use the LFG channel to well join groups as when people are getting into the crazy talk they may not want to even look at the channel (like myself). I think some level of change should happen for group making.

Well it does sound like they’re actually adding a usable LFG Tool finally instead of the garbage we have now so at least we won’t have to use an add on…

I love how you always mention my class as an argument when talking about either dual spec or this.

As if these weren’t specific bullet points on the list of reasons I rolled it to begin with…lol

You realize LFD doesn’t take away that advantage right?

I’d rather deal with RDF than see nothing but “LF TANK OHB CAN SUMMON” for a full hour in trade chat.

You realize taking away LFG doesn’t remove the ability to form groups, right?

Which has what to do with what I said?

As a tank you will have instant queues, dps will not.

DPS aren’t supposed to have it as easy as tanks do forming groups.

That’s like…one of the entire selling points of rolling a tank.

Right and LFD doesn’t change that.

Not sure why you seem to think that LFD somehow changes the ratio of tanks to dps.

It does. It makes it a lot easier for them to form groups because it requires no player input to push over the hurdle they would need to otherwise.

Except it doesn’t make it any easier. DPS will still have a lot longer wait to find a group.

I really don’t get why that confuses you. Or why you are so vindictive you want DPS to suffer. In an ideal world there would be a real 1-1-3 tank/healer/dps ratio.

Not sure what reality you live in where sitting and doing nothing is somehow not easier than actually forming a party in game manually.

But we are talking about the people joining groups not people forming them.

Exactly. I won’t be tanking with or without LFD because I hate it and am terrible at it. I’ve been leveling my warrior (just hit 55 today) and I constantly get whispers asking if I want to tank for groups. I feel bad turning them down, but that doesn’t change how I feel about tanking.

Whether joining or forming, doing something is harder than doing nothing to make it happen.

You have a very low barrier for hard if you think reading chat is hard.

Is tying your shoes the highlight of your day? You know that insurmountable challenge over slip ons?
