If you don’t like the gearing system, maybe MMOs aren’t for you

you need gear otherwise you wouldn’t go for the gear.

its not allowed because it wouldn’t be fair to players without eng/alch, in order to compete everyone would have to grind out eng/alch. isn’t that progression? why is it okay to have a system that is unfair and has you grind out ilvl to progress but not okay to have to grind and and progress professions? everyone keeps telling me this is an MMO, in MMOs professions matter. if you are all about grinding and progression but against professions in pvp then you are a hypocrite.

better than hiding on a level 10 alt and claiming to be a rated pvper.

??? Yes, this is how an MMO works lol… And btw, some of us PvP because we like to PvP, not just for gear.

Professions take roughly a couple thousand gold to cap out, and they give major bonuses which is why it’s not allowed in ANY competitive environment.

It doesn’t matter if you grind out all the professions, being able to use it in any rated PvP setting will never be allowed because the focus is PvP and NOT the PvE aspects of the game like professions.

but then why is ilvl and gems allowed? they give bonuses, shouldn’t ilvl be standardized then if we dont want bonuses in a competitive environment?

The gem slot bonuses are minimal, maybe like a % or two so they won’t make or break anything compared to professions that let you do some crazy stuff.

And also, iLevel should NOT be standardized because it’s an MMO with a gear system that lets you upgrade based on your skill level.

Why would it make sense for a new player at 150 iLevel to compete with someone whose put in more work than them to hit 226?

but then why can’t we have professions? professions are major parts of mmos and character defining.

you have to put in work to level up professions, even if you are buying mats with gold, work had to be put in to obtain that gold, which is no different than you buying a carry for gold.

you can’t be for the ilvl system and against professions in pvp without being a hypocrite.

My point is that you claim time and effort are rewarded. and that is blatantly incorrect.

Professions are NOT a major selling point of Shadowlands and it in no ways defines your character either this expansion :man_shrugging:

Of course I can, rated PvP is about skill not PvE things like professions.

If you can’t win with just your skill and gear alone, then go back to farming leather in Maldraxxus and don’t worry about iLevels then.

How is that incorrect? I spent time and effort to get my 226 gear and got rewarded with a power spike.

ilvl progression is a pve thing and a direct anti-skill thing. you are doubling down on being a hypocrite with that statement.

iLvl progression is tied to PvP now, so no it isn’t a PvE thing anymore. Sorry but you are doubling down on not understanding how the system works with that statement :man_shrugging:

is that english?

and everyone hates it. except of course the handful of players who it works for

Which FotM do you play?

he bought a carry, he’s not even a good pvper.

Actually evidence suggests not as many people hate it as you claim. :woman_shrugging:
Or I should say lack of you being able to provide evidence.

it’s worked for more than a handful of players if people are whining this much about made up issues like “gear disparity” or “boosting”

I played an arms warr

you mean all the people quitting wow atm? 9.1 is not until august? i look at my friends list and everyone is online, but nobody is playing wow. wow isn’t fun atm, more people stuck around for S4 and its BS corruption than this trash of a season.
