If you don’t like SL, it’s time to quit WoW

Such as? The endgame zone is full of mobs, yet empty. The endgame side content is less rewarding, boring, and a huge time sink. The loot drops are nerfed with no return of QoL such as master loot, reforging, or valor currency. The borrowed power, though it doesn’t involve an endless grind, is way more heavy handed than bfa’s, and is tied to cosmetics/rp.

So what is it that’s so much better than bfa?

There really isn’t a whole bunch going for this xpac actually, in fact i would argue its got less content then even WoD rn, which is kinda sad considering how much was actually cut from WoD, additionally and this is something ppl need to have drilled into their heads, THERE IS VERY LITTLE END GAME, we keep asking for more end game content, and keep getting the same crap regurgiated onto our plates over and over, raiding is nice but can only be done per week per toon, Mythic plus is just blizzards cop out atm for their sheer lack of things to actually do, shadowlands is the expansion of broken promises and ignorance, blizzard said they would actually listen start to listen to the player base and hasnt

Unhinged?
Am I using all caps?
Am I insulting people? I may on occasion say their behavior is idiotic, but usually in response to some starting the exchange as rude.
Am I defending my premise against specific criticism. Yes. Unhinged? No.
Undaunted, yes.

Niia, it’s called a debate.
I make a claim or state a premise, then I received arguments against it. Then I defend my claim. Expected people to change their minds slowly and after debate.
Your reaction makes it seem debate itself is offensive. That’s a problem.

Bad faith: I may be guilty a bit here because I don’t believe I would change my mind on my claim.
I am having too much fun. My friends list is full with people playing. Groups get filled fairly quickly, the community appears to enjoy SL.

Again, you should be enjoying SL despite some problems. The game is never perfect, but if you having a bad time, this ain’t your game anymore.

I have played since Vanilla, 2005 Feb.

I was so noob, sooooooo noob, that I skipped a warrior quest in Teldrasil. I wanted to catch up with my friends in Darshore. The quest was to learn defensive stance. But surely I would figure that out. Go to Thottbot or something. Nope.
At trainer: would wants to learn sunder armor?! It does no damage! Stupid! I’m here to pew pew. All the way to 60.
I did Stocksdes once, got into battle stance and used thunderclap. Isn’t that tanking?
I couldn’t even comprehend the groups disappointing comments.
I played a vanilla bro, full noob mode.

SL worst expansion to date? That is so unreasonable, unless you started WoW in BfA.

Not trying to dismiss specific criticism of the game. But if those issues are preventing you from enjoying all that SL is doing right, then yes, you no longer like WoW.

Less loot from Mplus is good. It was like this in Legion. I ran 5 dungeons on my priest and finally got an 880 legs. Still remember it. BfA? Loot rained from Mplus.

And now it seems like higher ilvl is always an upgrade! Finally.

Let me clarify the premise:
If your criticism of SL is outweighing all the SL is doing right, and you overall are not having FUN and LIKE the expansion, then this may no longer be the game for you.
If you are a fan of WoW, then you should be enjoying SL DESPITE some criticism: Orobos international airport, low loot drops, etc.

No specifics given to how SL is bad for casuals. This is the statement nefarious agents would use to produce a negative perception of SL.

Lack of loot drops.

Poor optimization of Covenants across the board for all classes and specs without reading an essay.

Timegating around every aspect of play.

The Maw.

Torghost…need I go on?

I started Feb 2005. Thanks for the high level of attention to details.

So you overall like SL?

Enjoying the “funposting” I’ve seen so far in this thread.

Not narcissistic, but I am making a strong claim.
If you are not overall enjoying SL, are happy with what the Devs did right, can’t see the positive changes, but instead are overall disappointed, then maybe WoW ain’t for you anymore.
Having fun but also some criticism? Ok. That’s been here since Vanilla.

You are so right my man!!! Well said. I haven’t thought of it in quite those terms, but after 12+ years of pretty much continuous play and sub time, it’s absolutely feels like I’m breaking up a long term marriage whereby ours goals have become mutually incompatible.

We both know we need to break up and it will ultimately be for the best. But it is emotional nonetheless. I’m sad SL didn’t workout for me, but the hard cold truth is that it isn’t working out for me. Not in its current form. As a semi-casual player I find Shadowlands unacceptable and a deal breaker.

My sub ends in just under 2 weeks and won’t be renewing. I’m coming to grips with this reality. But hell after doing something for that amount of time it kind of become almost part of you and ingrained in you. I’m sure Bliz relies on this, but not this time for me. Whenever I log on, I’m quickly reminded of my distaste for Shadowlands…I just simply can’t do this anymore. Not like this. I can’t and I won’t.

THIS is the feeling that BEST describes SL in a NUTSHELL. I stopped playing on Dec 27th.

False Dichotomy:
Well either you are having fun or not.
Either you have criticism or none.

1: Enjoying SL without criticism
2: Enjoying SL with criticism
3: Not enjoying SL without criticism (strange)
4: Not enjoying SL with criticism

Realistically 3 options, but a fourth is possible.
Better?

not to sound rude, but SL is barely doing anything right, i will put some points down

  1. World quests - This is arguably one of the most hated systems to exist in wow, in bfa they were at least bearable though as you got a lot of kill 1 rare ones, in shadowlands they removed these ones and additionally made a lot of them even more tedious/time consuming
  2. Emissaries - These weren’t terrible before, but the fact i need to fly all the way to my covenant before i can start these, then on top of this return to my covenant to complete it is assinine
  3. Loot - So i understand the loot complaints in bfa about how too much loot was dropping…well now a lot of players are down to 1 piece of loot a week…where is the middle ground blizzard
  4. Lack of content - there is very little content this time around, in fact there is so little to do i run out of things to do fairly early on once i get on, this is more of a constant issue as blizzard chooses to ignore the community and relies on M+ to keep us entertained…well its only going to go so far
  5. The sheer amount of time gating - this is just…no…just stop blizzard
  6. Lack of class expression - its clear a lot of classes either won or lost with the big “unpruning”, however it still feels as though a lot of core parts of some kits are locked behind talents
  7. Awful legendary system - Blizzard managed to fail at this system this time around…no idea how but they did
  8. So, Much, Versatility - Just why…why does 75% of all this loot have versatility, only a small portion of specs religiously use this stat outside of pvp…the sheer amount of it atm is just dumb
Overall shadowlands has failed in basically every department minus the art department, even the story is kinda bad

What you’re doing is called trolling, not debating Tupac. Of course, you’re well aware of this.

Well here’s the thing, people need to learn what is opinion.

After they learn that move on to the concepts of subjective verse objective.

In a nutshell what i typed above is the center of 98% of all heated discussions on this forum…the other 2% being made up %'s on the spot.

To say the game is not the issue, for instance, its you…thats a ridiculous statement. If someone dislikes the game they dislike the game, from their POV it therefore is the game.

I do agree the people that stick around to only incite discontent though those folks gotta git.
