That’s one of the best prizes anyone can win on the internet.
People delete stuff out of their bags with a “Are you sure you wish to destroy this?” prompt…
Then it’s on them and I have zero sympathy.
If people are that worried about it then i recommend putting a suggestion either in game or on the blue post explaining it to add a warning box before converting non-tier slot pieces and how they won’t give the bonus.
If people can’t read the warning in game its officially on them.
I mean, it wouldn’t hurt anyone by having such a prompt, but I do feel that it is highly unnecessary.
It’s like anything in life, you idiot proof something and they just build better idiots lol.
This is good to know, hopefully it will cut back on the screw ups a bit.
I just feel that a lot of how it has been explained and covered by fan sites could easily mislead some people into thinking every piece it makes counts as tier, even in the blue post people were questioning it despite it being spelled out.
The opening line of "At a base level, how it works is you input a piece of Season 3 gear and a corresponding tier set piece will be made with a matching item level. " in their official post doesn’t help matters.
Those darn millennials can’t read and just want everything handed to them.
You can lead a person to knowledge but you can’t make them think
It should be obvious to any who know tier sets its only on tier slots. If any think otherwise it’s their fault for failing reading comprehension class… But still I also agree to this PSA.
Just I guarantee dispite this we are gonna see GD posts ranting over no set bonus on the nonmain slots lol guarentee it 120%
Oh, guaranteed. But they won’t be able to say they weren’t warned about it in advance.
Wouldn’t this be obvious since the tier pieces are not available for those pieces? Or am I missing something?
THey will be the same people that only read titles of threads and not the full first post by the OP .
Angry Player: Why didn’t they say something
Other Players: THere was a full thing about it . here is a link
Angry Player: That’s 2 many words
Other players : it’s only a 4 sentence paragraph
Angry player : Like I said too many words.
I think the concern was that, since the forge was advertised as tier catch-up and convenience, people might have been under the impression that any item converted would be counted as a tier slot; similar to how they added the pants neutral domination slot trigger at the end of 9.1
The PSA was to warn people that only the helm, gloves, chest, legs and shoulders are eligible. The other slots are just for stat rerolling or transmog completion and you’ll be better off converting lower item level tier eligible slots instead of higher item level off slots.
Wait, you can use the thing to reroll stats? o.O
Stats are predetermined in the forge so if the raid item has say crit haste bracers and im currently wearing vers mastery dungeon bracers i could reroll them in the forge for the different stats if that was an improvement. Like i said in an earlier post its a sort of ghetto reforging once people have all the tier slots.
Edit* this is assuming it still works the same as ptr. Tier slot pieces definitely have the same stats as the ones from raid no-matter the base pieces and was re-confirmed in the blue post. But it only mentioned the tier slots in the stat section and nothing on the off-pieces stats.
I still fall back to “if you don’t know how how tier has worked for over a decade and can’t read a screen, then it’s all on you.” I refuse to have my other set pieces taken away because some random person decides to be dumb. lol
For 9.2.5 they should add corruption and titan forging in addition to tier, really make it fun.
I feel like for some people, better to get your Raids out of the way first and then crap crafted if you are missing a piece. Or Mythic + or w/e.
Yes, some people will assume you throw in pants(even if you already own tier pants) and then be surprised when they get tier pants again cause they didn’t read. There’s a reason we need such detailed instructions to everything IRL nowadays lol, people without guidance will mess things up badly.
Definitely depends on the content you’re doing.
I’ll only be raiding heroic so converting any of my 278 mythic plus pieces to finish my 4 set can only be an upgrade.
If you only have 252s but are gonna clear heroic, waiting is probably the optimal answer though.
