Just wait till dire maul come out…
LFG DM
On most servers, it went by both, which is why this argument is so stupid and annoying that it won’t stop coming up. Dire Maul tended to come with a direction or tribute since nobody ever wanted to do a full clear of that place, so nobody ever got confused.
Well supported argument.
You can disagree if you want, but he did support his argument well. It was in the part you cut out.
No problem Sam
It was in the part you cut out.
This is maybe the third post that’s stated the same thing, so let me clarify.
He began his next comment with “Also,” after finishing the first with a period. It was an aside, and not particularly support.
The support that could be derived from the comment was not of particular validity, either.
Whether I agree or disagree does not make, “You are wrong” a better supported argument. It’s a poor argument, and belongs on an elementary school ground, not in a public forum, in my opinion.
Actually im correct.
Vc and dm were both used on my server back in 2004. This is fact.
Neither is right or wrong, it can be either VC or DM. The fact that so many people get upset by this is pretty funny.
Shhhhh shh shh shh… there there it will be just fine.
Just roll horde and you likely won’t have to deal with it at all
I just call it deadmines
Troll all you want. You’re wrong about everything anyways. Everything in your life.
Someone isn’t very quick on the uptake…
As I played Horde for a while at the start of WoW, I never even knew about Deadmines until much later. I was surprised about VC being an abbreviation for it, but it makes sense.
At high levels, people were farming Dire Maul. This dungeon was also use by Horde and Alliance, while Deadmines was typically Alliance. It makes sense that the dungeon used primarily by one of the factions gets the “weirder” name.
Technically, DM works for both. It’s just more proper to not use that for Deadmines as it can be confusing, as when both sides want to talk about the collective Dire Maul dungeons (such as on forums), they want to use it’s obvious abbreviation “DM”.
Regardless of if you like it or not, VC is a proper name for Deadmines. That said, so is DM, even if people will typically confuse that with Dire Maul.
So, in short, can we please move on and shift-click people’s names (or ask) to know for certain what people are asking for when they say DM, or modify your LFG macros (least, that’s what I use) to spell out the instance?
I’m kinda getting annoyed at this whole thing at this point…
Cool story bro.
Nope.
Uldum.
Then I moved to Blade’s Edge, but by that time, I wasn’t running VC or Diremaul.
Dire maul is DM…Deadmines is VC…you are wrong.
So?
Being pedantic over such a minor issue is ugly.
I joined a week after launch, as a complete noob. Did westfall quests on my hunter, got quest to kill VC, said LF VC run like everybody else on my server (Hyjal), had no clue what a dungeon was.
The questline literally walks you to the entrance to the building which is zoned as Deadmines BEFORE you get the quest to take down VC.
OK… apparently that didn’t make as big an impression on people as all the quest texts building up VC as the epic mastermind of doom. What can I say.
VC in Westfall zone chat…how Vogue.

Hey, no one reads the quest text. They just look at the rewards at the bottom.
