It is. They had every possible chance to get off their mega servers. They even had the chance to transfer off them FOR FREE. It’s been one year.
A year with layers.
OCE has 2 options to transfer to. A realm that will have just as bad queues if everyone in current queue would to transfer and a dead realm that has barely started their war effort.
Whatever stance you have on layers, you have to see that pushing us into 5 hour queues the same week AQ opens is horrendous planning.
WRONG.
At the time we had the option to change to a PVE/Normal server, there was not second option of a PVP server.
Also, they OPEN TRANSFERS INTO Arugal making the problem worse.
Yes, a crutch that shouldn’t have existed in the first place. There is a reason no Vanilla servers had everyone playing in them: the cap was much lower than what we have today and it was a hard cap. If anything, Blizzard should reduce the cap to around 3.5k players online in every server to get queues to around 30 hours and FORCE people off, as there is nothing more different from the “Vanilla experience” than a server with 10k people. I know - I played during Vanilla and I currently play in Sulfuras, my guild would easily transfer off to a medium server if the queues ever became something like 5 hours.
Congrats for you Lease, however we don’t have a Medium population option we have 1 mega server and 3 mostly dead ones.
you aren’t in our shoes, Blizzard screwed us at launch by having a single server to choose from for pvp, so people couldn’t spread when given a choice or make that proper choice months up to the release.
Would have been nice to have options on release. We were provided one PVP realm.
If you’ll notice, the blue post from this weekend mentioned nothing of your views, they merely stated it was safe to remove layers while providing transfers back to high pop realms.
By time the extra servers were in people had formed bonds joined guilds, it was far too late, Layering helps it ONLY helps the larger servers and there is no justification in the world you can use to hand wave them away when they are needed.
Q3 is the big brain thought but i think Dev’s just hated the ideas of layerings staying… but the problem wont be solved till the playerbase moves to TBC… then that will be its own shetshow… will blizzard make enough servers…
If not now, when? Layers have to disappear one day or another, it’s been one year, if you want AQ40 open on week one you should deal with queues, isn’t that fair?
It’s clear that Blizzard is forcing the issue. They WANT people gone from that server and don’t mind making it bad for a while to fix things.
It’s too late for Classic. Try again TBC.
Not according to the blue post it’s not.
By accepting transfers to Arugal?
If what you say is true, why not do it during the middle of a tier instead of on week 1? Why allow guilds to prepare and for community to open gates together just to stop half of them of being able to log in?
Yep there was not. But they did open up a new one and even 2 eventually. They warned you what would happen with layering going away. They even gave you layering back once or twice. You guys refused to leave behind the community you had become part of even after just a month or so. That was the fix. The other option was Blizzard force moving random people off the server to the other which we know would have been a horrible choice. People chose to stay and now they are suffering. I’m done trying to get this through these OCE players heads. Yes they were given two bad choices at the start, but it appears they made the worse of the two choices seeing as how they COULD have made a new community and friends instead of just not being able to play.
There will be a third time, we all know it. The blue post made no mention of your stance.
Oh, come on, what do you expect the blue post to say? “We screwed up at the beginning of Classic, we want layers gone, we need people off that server and we need it quickly”?
To not say the complete opposite of that.
Do you agree with that there should never be 10k people online in any Vanilla server, and that layers make it possible? Or do you want a huge server with all the advantages of one and none of the drawbacks?
What an utterly moronic “solution.”
Yes, do this if you want Classic to just die.
Free transfers to a server with 10 people on your faction, wow, amazing, great option.
The only OCE server with gates open and by far the biggest, and they remove layers and open transfers. LOL WTF BLIZZ
I wish to play classic the same way we have for a year and don’t wish to miss anymore lockouts or have my guild deteriorate so you can be happy half a world away.
Man, “you think you do, but you don’t” ended up being true for a surprising amount of people.
“You think you do, but you don’t” doesn’t apply when layers were a bandaid solution to problems that didn’t exist in Vanilla.
We do, we just stuck in queue. I’d prefer Blizzard tell us themselves but they did this as they went home for the weekend.
What? There were no 10k player servers in Vanilla. If you want to be part of one you kind of don’t want Classic, am I wrong?
