If you think that wowhead, or mmo-population, or raider.io, or anybody else has accurate data on WoW’s current playerbase size, you’re out of your mind.
But hey, grats on completely derailing the player housing thread.

Gottq keep the convo going, champ.
threads in here all the time asking for player housing…but this one says no one wants it lol
I want player housing
It has nothing to do with player base size and everything to do with the amount of characters who have logged in recently enough to ping an armory update and what percentage of them have certain achievements.
I like how you came in with a bold faced claim, got dunked on with citations to back up how wrong you were, and then tried to change the subject.
But TL/DR: Raiding is not as popular as you think with anyone currently active, heroic level isn’t more popular than LFR and Normal, and you can’t back up any of your claims that it ever was.
So… my bad for derailing the derailed thread. But this wasn’t just for you, it was for everyone boasting about the popularity of raiding being anything more than something a minority of the active playerbase does. And I brought receipts for that that everyone has access to if they really want to invest in scraping data from the API like Wowhead has. They even have a nice little pie chart for a quick peek.
To bring this back on topic, if WoW ever decided to sacrifice a raid tier for housing (which, again, they have no reason to), it wouldn’t impact roughly 2/3rds of the playerbase who don’t engage with any of the raids.
I could go either way, personally.
I just dont like them speaking for the masses in here as if they have any credibility to do it.
Other games have housing. It gets used. Saying it wont be used in WoW is the epitome of absurdity. Lots will use it if its done right.
And if they arent going to do it right, not a lot of point of doing it at all.
About 20 people want player housing.
Weren’t garrisons blizzards attempt at player housing?
No. They were Blizzard’s attempt at garrisons.
Yes, and in typical Blizzard fashion they completely failed to address what people wanted from player housing, and instead did something entirely different that lowkey ruined Warlords of Draenor.
And we’ll never get player housing again because of Garrisons.
Blizzard has/had big “You think you want X, but we’ll give you what you really want instead” energy.
I do find it ironic that your were the one accusing others of being “incredibly juvenile”.
Here we have a very mature example of the toddler-mimicking-technique.
You are a lot of fun, Lilyfeet.
What do you even do in the game on grobbulus? What server even is that?
Lmao
If you all want to play house so bad you could play the many games you listed that offer that.
WoW is not that game.
I don’t get mad at Sims developers because I can’t raid or pvp in it.
WoW is not that game.
WoW is not that game yet. And when it eventually is, I hope you lose nothing that you enjoy at the expense of it.
Not one MMO has ever been saved by having player housing in it, no matter how great people said the player housing was.
At this point I’d prefer housing over raiding.
I feel like that game had a pretty clunky system, yeah? Lots of freedom but weird to use. That was my experience with swgemu anywha.
Weren’t garrisons blizzards attempt at player housing?
The Mists farm is more ‘player housing’ than the garrison.
Not one MMO has ever been saved by having player housing in it, no matter how great people said the player housing was.
probably because those games already had housing before anything went south in the first place.
There is currently housing in WoW?
Don’t you all have garrisons?
