I don’t know why we’re forcing this false dichotomy here, but let’s not act like it’s crazy or toxic or elitist for people to prefer prioritizing actual gameplay over a tertiary system.
Make your own game.
Especially since the pattern from so many other MMORPG’s is that people clamor for player housing, it comes out, people fiddle with it for a month, and then it’s deserted by the rest of the playerbase afterwards.
While I’ve enjoyed housing in other games, most people don’t, and it’s just a black pit of development time and money.

Get hired at a senior enough position on the wow team then present your data showing how it’d actually be more profitable. Easy enough.
I will definitely continue to act like raiding is more popular that housing. As I have no reason to believe otherwise.

What we (the players want) definitely influences the outcome on certain levels. If housing and sacrificing a raid tier was deemed as something to bring in more money for WoW long term, it would be done.
no thank you. got 0 interest in player housing. it does nothing for me or players like me or even the 40-50 active players in my guild that only raid, dungeon and keep up with current achievements. so there’s that.

I honestly get why ppl wouldn’t want to sacrifice a raid tier for housing. I also can’t imagine housing in this game being anything amazing its just like storage wearhouses in other games. For the most part, there’s occasionally something unique. However if u want to really build or world build, learn blender3d or download minecraft and go at it in creative. NMS too has some building potential.
I wouldn’t mind something like the garrisons again i know ppl said they made the world feel empty, butt the world already feels empty anyway.
Like in Venthyr land they could have added in a castlevania castle we could furnish out some to our liking our covenants where kinda like that a tiny bit once we upgraded them.
Anyway wow is not much of a game for immersion, there is lots of gameplay related content aside from raids and M+ I would rather see instead of something immersion breaking like walking into someones second life or FF14 pent house full of cat lady statues
The only games I’ve ever played with player housing were Dark Age of Camelot and Wildstar.
I didnt touch them there either. I want raids.
No because if we’re gonna get player housing, it shouldn’t be at the cost of a raid. A major function of the patches within this game should not be sacrificed for a purely cosmetic function that may or may not be popular. Just hope it’ll be an expansion feature one day for a new expac so it can get the attention it deserves as a bonus system.

I want to live in the head of someone that thinks they can talk to a developer and convince them to do what seems smart in their own myopic little world. A world where I can forget I’m old and have worked for an enterprise company for thirty years and learned to compromise on basically everything I ever wanted. It must be nice to live in that world.
I just eat popcorn while the player housing threads come and go; I’m ready for the betting pool.

Speculation is next expansion could be “dark side of Azeroth” “shadow of Azeroth” with a little bit of pirate theme.
Presumably sailing to the other side of Azeroth.
We could potentially get customizable player housing-like ships
