And you couldn’t direct that to the OP?
They could kill off Genn Greymane anytime.
Short answer. No. No they don’t.
Longer answer. Sylvanas is no longer a Horde leader, and these 1 for 1 trade offs (no matter how arbitrary) is how they on the surface justified Vol’jin’s absolute trash death. Granted, we now know its because they just wanted him out of the way so Sylvanas could take the Horde for a joyride … but still, garbage trade offs.
That is not to say that Alliance characters should be immune to death or anything, its just that a death on the other side has always been a trash reason to kill off a character.
For what? He hasn’t done anything. To be honest I think they do, and I think it will be Turalyon who does it midway through Shadowlands because the Light has corrupted him, and we will suddenly find Genn in the Shadowlands and be like WHAATTTT whoa why are you here? And then he will explain what happened. This way Blizzard can setup the Tyranny of Light expansion.
They have built up Tess Greymane in Legion and BfA, so I think Genn is toast. And frankly, you know what? It’s probably for the best. Blizzard has butchered him by making him nothing more than an Anduin bootlicker that kisses the ground golden boy walks on. Like Genn cares more about Anduin than his own family, which is wrong because if you read Lord of His Pack you would know Mia and Tess are his entire world.
as someone said up, i’m myself against this crappy thing of keeping balanced numbers of characters in both sides because it introduces bad characters to fill the holes or it kills others in some stupid ways
anyways, Veleen it’s done, i know he appears in a comic with an old anduin, but veleen had his story done, he defeated the burning legion, saw his son, visited his planet, forgot kiljaeden… give that old goat a good death he must be exhausted.
That’s just atrocious storytelling, and the sort of thinking that has got us here.
Besides, Sylvania is not leading any Horde faction now. The Horde is nothing to her.
Careful, some people might answer “how to assassinate a beloved character’s personality and story”
Isn’t that what people say anytime a Horde character dies?
Because, my god. Even Drakka is having to be made look stronger, and more confident after her death.
- Anduin has just gotten murderized
- Just randomly killing characters is bad storytelling
- I’d rather just have both factions abolished completely then be forced to play this game of a Parity of Misery between factions.
No more goddam parity deaths plz, it’s a stupid, worthless, trope that needs to stop.
You say that as if offing Anduin isn’t a net gain for the Alliance, the story and the setting as a whole.
Why do people feel like we need a check list where it is one for one? That is how we got Vol’jin dying for no reason beyond “Varian died for actual narrative reasons, we need to keep it “equal” to avoid “bias” so we will kill Vol’jin and make Sylvanas warchief because we let the plot drive the characters and we need her to be evil at some point”. You can tell that the stuff with Vol’jin in BFA and Shadowlands is due to the community backlash they got from killing him off in Legion. Especially after his character arc in MoP and the fact that he did nothing in WoD beyond “grats on getting a level 3 garrison”.
And he appeared a bit later when we build a shipyard to make final assault for Tanaan. Saying that strike from front would generate more loss, so we attacked from behind.
But I think it was less about parity as it was more about giving Sylvanas a power. And Vol’Jin was standing in the way of “story they wanted to tell”.
Still, I believe that she could’ve still kickstart trouble by actually enslaving Eyir and disappearing afterwards and coming to face Bolvar.
Maybe we would have better story in BfA.
I don’t give a damn about Sylvanas.
But Genn needs to go. Genuinely hte worst leader of either faction. Yes. Worse than Gallywix ever was. By a substantial margin, in fact.
Genn can die when there’s a meaningful worgen character ready to take up the reins.
Losing your racial leader and having Joe Bob the armoursmith become the new one is only for the Horde.
How? Possession is not the same as death.
Why would it be a worgen character when the heritage armor quest is what it is?
Ask Worgen players of what they think of that heritage quest. I think most would agree that it deserves to be retconned into the trashcan.
Astranaar.
You’re being a little loose with speaking for the rest of us, aren’t you?
