If I don't do rated I'm only able to get max 200 gear

So is targeted harassment. Just curious, but who do you believe was name calling?

I see a lot of people abusing the forum systems to claim ToS violations while they themselves are blatantly trolling.

I can’t see the post that you replied against however if it’s Suzette’s post / Oozo’s reply (Which for some reason, was flagged) it seems like another condescending troll post created simply to mock the OP and insinuate they want everything for free.

I think it was just exposed as not making much sense since it came from an account without any related PVP experience.

Are you talking to me? Stating facts isn’t calling someone names. Heh.

prepatch never ended. I can dig up quotes of people baselessly saying the gear difference won’t be noticed at 60, as well as anyone with half a brain on the beta posting about this being the exact situation we would be looking at come launch & people rolled into the real geal.

You can’t even honour grind to hit the ground “running” @ 60, because of the 15k cap. You’re forced to enter bgs with less health than a geared level 50. Lmfao.

I see my favorite undead is still posting facts, keep it up. <3

Yes there are a few that do this and it’s really sad to see. They insult or mock someone who then responds either emotionally/defensively or whatever and I guess they have a few friends flag the post “hoping” to get that person sanctioned.

I think/hope Blizzard is starting to see the behavior as some of the obvious ones from the last few months haven’t posted in a while

Best to try to hide in epic BGs as you work through this phase. Heh.

This, been trying to help my healer gear up his hpal this way. Imagine people defending this system though. It’s so disgusting as it stands rn.

Or are posting on different accounts.

Interesting take from someone “PVP geared” How come you don’t enjoy rolling or seeing casuals who don’t enjoy rated struggle like some of our friends on here lol…

see it this way
197 is basically story mode gear ( covenant , solo pvp grind)
anything beyond is going into some rank system/organized multiplayer

i think its ok and makes sense , however still the gap is steep

Quite simple, it’s bad and unfun for both parties. I enjoy close games even in unrated games. I don’t enjoy rolling undergeared players but I’d have a better time, as would they, if gear wasn’t locked behind rating.

IDK I just don’t think gear should be like it is now. WoD and MoP gearing with no rating reqs on it was fine. Doesn’t bother me one bit that random BGers or lower rated players have the same ilvl gear as me.

Depending on your covenant, the covenant gear can be really bad for PvP (venthry covenant armor is trash while necrolord is very good). If you do the pvp grind to gear up then you are really hurting your team’s chance to win in the non-epic BGs. It’s dumb.

It shouldn’t be. It shows a fundamental misunderstanding of what PvP gear should be.

PvP gear was the starting line. It was what we equipped to facilitate, to enable PvP to exist. It wasn’t the reward but the tool. PvP gear, and the PvP stats, mitigated the game from being a 1 shot PvE fest into a more managed pace.

What we’re currently seeing is a tool that isn’t capable of doing it’s job.

In the past when gear was tied behind rating, unranked gear was available with stats within fighting distance of the current stuff. Not unfathomable power gaps like we’re currently seeing.

This. So much this. Like you said, people with a working braincell warned that this would be an issue.

Ya, it was only a very minute stat difference for the most part. But say we compare me at 223 ilvl to another ret with like 207 or 213 gear? That guy is going to get absolutely rocked. Awful system and it blows my mind that some people defend it.

Not to mention trying to play alts is a disaster. It’s just all around not fun, especially for the lower rated/unranked players.

Yeah, unfortunately there are some elitist tools on the forums using the “flag post” functions to silence people who have an opposing viewpoint. It’s disturbing.

My alt cohofish was in a group yesterday with people in 195 ilvl (I was 212 before upgrading), but great players and we won against people on their 2600cr mains fully geared.

If you think that it’s all about gear you’re absolutely nuts.

It’s not all about gear but if you take two people on the same class of equal skill and put one in 197 gear and the other in 220 gear, who wins?

There is room for gear progression in pvp but gameplay (who plays that isolated fight better) should be the primary determining factor not gear.

When it comes to two druids, maybe the one who gets more starsurges on convoke or crits more…

You can complain about gear all you want, but it will always come down to what procs over the other in RNG in this burst meta. You have higher chances with better gear, but it’s not everything.

Unrated pvp gear has always been behind, why the outrage now?

Eh, are we counting unrated gear from MoP or WoD? They could get a full set of conq gear without doing any arena via getting conq through other means in WoD. It was a lot slower though. In MoP, they could just be sub 1500 and have a full set of PvP gear. None of it required rating.
