I find this extremely ironic coming from an Undead Rogue whose faction-mates generally state that PvP isn’t fair.
No, jackwagon, being stomped for hours/days/weeks with little ability to do anything meaningful about it makes people quit.
Sometimes there is no “Just Get Better” - if you can’t recruit a skilled enough team to win - there is no point in trying.
See: Declining alliance populations on nearly every PvP server
Like I wrote earlier, this is going to be HEAVILY abused by twitch streamers. Next week people will post videos of these poorly skilled losers with their idiotic fan club guilds and how they treat their guilds like crap and the fans will love it. They will finally “get to play with their favorite streamer omgomgomgomgomg” just to check to see if they’re playing against another premade and just to be kicked because they got deserter debuff now. Calling it now. Clips of no skill players like Swifty, 400 pound whales like Esfand, and nasally clowns like advertise will be made.
We’re talking actual current evidence of most people including most people in this thread validating how bad… how extremely garbage they are at pvp by showing first hand how to dodge another premade and only pug stomp.
Ya know man, Look I agree with you. Pugstomps could ruin the game. BUT I don’t agree in control when it comes to things like this. If someone wants the pugstomp then by the powers of elune they should have the freedom to do it.
First off, quitters are going to quit, we shouldent apeal to the people who are so fragile that they can’t try and stick with something for the sake of personal improvement, they will come up with some other reason to quit later down the line regardless. This is why a majority of the people are in classic in the first place. Blizz needs to appeal to the loyal fanbase that are passonite and love playing the game.
Second, you dont have to form a group of new people every time you make a premaid, find a bunch of people on the server that are like minded, and if they suck work together as a team to improve.
Third, the declining alliance pvp population is a totally different issue, caused by the inability to actually play the game due to massive amounts of people camping zones killing you whenever you try to do anything. not because they loose all the time but because a massive amount of the content isnt avalible to them.
I was a here over a decade ago when players thought they were making logical and sound proposal for “Improving pvp”.
Blizz listened to them instead of the players like myself.
Well retail BG’s should for all intent and purpose be friggin amazing and worth a subscription alone.
Who here think retail BG’s are to die for? crickets* crickets*
Why, because I came to discover one underlying truth about all those players who thought fair pvp would create more and better pvp and that is that they still die, just not as fast and in the end dont do pvp because they hate dying and come to the boards to whine about, thinking well if Blizz does this, I wont die anymore, oh yes you will.
True, PvP minded players, dont complain.
That sounds kinda miserable if people are grinding honor but not having fun.
Everyone thinks TBC PvP is better than Vanilla PvP. I have never met a true PvP’er who thinks the Vanilla Honor System is good.
So stop pretending that the only choice is between Vanilla and retail.
I didnt day TBC i said retail.
well I know loads of people who love the honor system.
So if PvP happens in a PvP setting youll quit?
Maybe stick to PvE
Who? And why?
The one where you play with more people and not try to limit your social interactions to a small group of players and avoid everyone else.
It is. I played on Northdale against the APES premade. Tribey used to complain on reddit the entire time he was doing premades because he was bored since no one would even fight back against them. And honor caps were like 2 million.
Just leave vanilla BGs alone. No changes.
They could use a hidden MMR.
Winning games at a higher MMR could give more rewards.
Who would do Raids if there wasn’t a reward system attached to it.
Who would do anything in WoW if there wasn’t a reward mechanism involved.
That’s why BG’s are awful in retail.
Your logic is convoluted.
You keep thinking, the easier something the more fun it is…NO!
The better something is, the more fun it is.
The more a player aspire to be good at something, the better it is.
You want to compete in BG’s learn the fight, get the gear, know that a pvp rotation is not a pve rotation and spec properly.
Dont come in with your dungeon/raid talent tree, because you dont feel like re-speccing for PvP combat.
Wow, someone with a brain on the forums.
You’re allowed to be social and work together with your pug teammates. That stuff isn’t restricted to premades only.
Have you ever actually soloqued a BG before? There is no meaningfull social interaction, it’s usually either nobody talking while one guy shouts out commands in chat while everyone ignores them, or chat devolving into “my team sucks, you guys suck, L2P Noob” whenever things turn slightly south. I would much rather que with people in my guild while we talk, stratagize, or just BS around on discord.
Arenas and bgs rely on individual performance and teamwork. They’re both important.
