“Individuals mourning the loss of a loved one share a privacy right similar to individuals in their homes or individuals entering a medical facility,” - Ohio: Phelps-Roper v. Strickland
Generally, laws which limit demonstrations near a funeral specify a time frame. Before and after which, you can exercise free speech all you want. Even so, I would argue that such laws violate the first amendment.
Also, WoW is not a funeral, unless you’re making a case for BFA.
I imagine that you are going to use the often dragged out “differing opinions and beliefs” misdirect.
It is not about opinions or beliefs it is about suitable/unsuitable places for certain things.
Lets make it more extreme. Right-click report, even by 1 person, teleports you to the stockades for 30 minutes. Gives you time to think about what you did wrong.
No. /ignore. I can count on one hand topics/behavior that should be bannable.
We’re all for GM’s reviewing offenses, but you seem to want to skip due process and go right for the throat, because you’re not patient enough to use /ignore.
And if you’re concerned about the lack of /ignore slots, why aren’t you lobbying for more, or in your case, an infinite supply?
We are discussing Squelching/Silencing, not banning. Try again.
Because I actually welcome the quicker route to remove offenders from public channels rather than just ignoring them and hoping blizzard actually gets around to dealing with them days afterward.
So the real problem is Blizzard customer service, specifically the response time. I would agree that a few days is not acceptable. I personally can’t back this claim up, but I will lobby with you.
Until then, let’s just use /ignore and save some innocent people from having their good times spoiled by those who intend to use the system in a malicious way.
In this case, that “police officer” would be a Blizzard GM.
That group of people walking by that sees that man with the blood covered chainsaw can call 911 (submit a tight click report) to notify the police (Blizzard), but they cannot beat that man into submission (squelch him).
Can you substantiate any of these claims with official Blizzard statements, or are you just spewing your own assumptions on how you think the system works or should work?
I’m starting to agree with the OP’s premise. From the beginning I thought auto-squelch would be bad for Classic. But after watching videos, reading posts, and thinking about it…it’s worse than merely bad. It’s completely game breaking. This will be troll heaven.
Once again, it appears that we have Padre being dishonest with us all in an attempt to convince us all that what he wants is not detrimental to the game.
I guess you expected us all to disregard that left column of things that players CANNOT do. You know that list that starts with:
“Talk in Instance Chat (Raid, Party, and Battlegrounds)”
Nope. It is clear that blizzard is more interested in cutting overhead and reviewing squelches is more effective than reviewing individual reports. Nipping idiocy in the bud is more effective than a pipedream that blizzard would be more proactive on their end.
If they think that’s true, they haven’t thought it through at all. Not only do they review the squelch, they review every single report for that squelch in any borderline case. And since the ‘rules’ are so vague and can be interpreted in a myriad of ways…good luck finding any consistency in that. They’re also drastically increasing their workload by incentivizing players to make frivolous reports because the immediate squelch function is a powerful tool in Classic.
Well for the reading comprehension impaired that means instance as in lfr, bg’s and lfg. You know fez the “instant gratification of QOL convenience”. Lol
Guess even blizz thinks comprehension is important before making wild unsupported claims.
Oh wait. Look at this thread people are complaining and don’t even know how it works or care to do the research. Lol
Imagine that.
This crap right here is why blizz ignores this player base and doesn’t bother communicating.
Why communicate when a good portion won’t understand or research to figure it out.
Yup. Mirrors politics.
