If I see a wrong happening in real life I am not just going to ignore it and walk away. Same holds for in game where I am trying to get away from the real world for a spell. I wager the vast majority of people playing MMOs like it for the escapism.
Sorry, but many of us are not content with just ignoring problems and hoping they go away on their own.

I would rather have the 200 thin skinned overly sensitive people have to ignore him. I have never once put anyone on ignore, but then again I am mature enough to not let words on a computer screen affect me.

so if your screen is filled to the point you cant even see the mob infront of you, that is fine cause “your thick skinned urg im a manly man!”

Would you rather be silenced for a 72 hours because a guild doesn’t like that you have killed their characters, not allowing others to get devilsaur, or are farming their premade and wasting their time? That will happen if the system is put into place. Use your ignore button instead. Odds are not everyone has the same sense of humor but if you cant just ignore your chat log while you are in a city and someone is making jokes you don’t like, clearly you need a psychiatrist because its literally just text on the screen that is making you cry.

If your screen gets blocked by chat you seriously need some elementary skills in how to work a simple video game UI. You are making this up as you go at this point.

except your not silenced for 72 hours, you are silenced for about 3-4 before a gm steps in and removes the silence because it is a false silence…
or are you speaking from personal experiance?
cause funnily enough, if you are, then you were not fasly silenced, you were found to have been breaking the rules and got a 3 day silence buddy…

Not what I said at all. You are essentially lying. The ignore feature works fine. If you want to talk about increasing the limit of the ignore list, fine.

You lot who played wow back in its glory days, remember the orc death parties in org? I miss those, i always wondered what they did to float above the ground if they wanted to spell stuff out in the sky… It was quite the beautiful wonder… Those lil scoundrals trying to sell their gold, I remember my fps would drop any time i stepped near the swarm of em.
A 5 year old can set up the WoW UI so that spam does not block the screen. Are you seriously saying you can’t?

except again, it is much better for the community, if instead of 200+ people having to ignore a guy and his 12 alts after he starts filling trade chat with 3 paragraph posts
then just have a few people report him.
Power, idk if you play wow at all anymore, doesent look like it.
but this system has been in the game for an entire year, and there has never been an “epidemic” of “mass players reporting and shutting people out of being able to talk!”
and in chat? how do you find a group for your dungeon when every 5 seconds a new modern player is joining trade chat to tell you how bad vanila is?
but hey, maybe a 5 year old could have the patience to live out through a 3 hour silence, or maybe just not make themselves a “target” and if they do, they will get silenced for a few hours, before having it removed, and the ones who issued the silence simply have their privileges taken.

Id expect someone to easily triggered to try and silence someone from talking to anyone in a game because they don’t have the same humor would try to insult someone in a way that makes themselves on a higher level of morality. Im sorry bud but you are trying this on the wrong person. Iv saved a kids life from a bad parent while risking my own life. Seems like im not the type to ignore problems either. If this was russia yes, cause they dont like that over there, as in wow, they dont allow political talk in public channels, causes lots of issues.
so yes if you were in a place they DID NOT like you talking about something, and YOU TALKED ABOUT IT. you would be punished.

No iv never been silenced but clearly what someone finds as a joke is insulting to someone else. The person who looks at the report could have the same opinion while another GM may not have the same opinion.

i heavily doubt you have played 14 years if you dont remember the orc word gold sellers who spammed chat with a new charecter they brought to the zone every maybe minute.
maybe when you finally get to experience vanilla you might get a taste of it.
i do wonder if we will see the orcs again… might be fun to learn their secrets.
