so many became totally dependent on it as their only source of in game income and its hilarious to watch them scream and moan about maybe having to actually farm if they want consumes
or get prebis on an alt if they want to get into a decent raid instead of just hurling money at a gdkp group.

Nah it won’t disappear, but this is absolutely a step in the right direction. GDKPs promote people to buy gold so they can bid insane amounts on items to guarantee they get it. This is a fact, Blizzard knows it, I know it, the community knows it….you also know it but you will cry “show proof” until you’re blue in the face. Let it go snowflake

Went back and reread your post and I must admit I was a little over reactionary. The forums have been heated lately with everyone from Russian gold sellers to bad actors up in here spewing a lot of misinformation. My bad, dude. Let me try again.
Your post was mostly about 40 mans and SRs. So first, lets look at what we know and try to speculate off that.

40 man raids are not being retrofitted or updated as of now. Aggrend talked about this not being an ideal use of dev time. So that means with the power levels we have from runes and better gear it will most likely only take 20-25 people to clear old era content.

The gear from the newer level 60 SoD raids will be so much better than anything in MC or BWL that I doubt that it will even be attractive to go there. That said I personally hope they update Onyxia loot tables with more modern numbers. Just an iconic encounter that most enjoy.

SR lists where a single item that is contested by many players is great if the other pieces are worth something. Final bosses with big drops and rep/turn in items are always great design. Lets hope the devs do this in the future.

The same argument could be said for Ranking WSG teams, they could be buying their consumes with bought gold, and your benefiting from winning the games with bought consumes, The same could be said With the auction house, you post an item, someone bought gold to buy your item, your benefiting from that. you go to a guild run/pug run, And everyone or someone in your raid has bought consumes with bought gold, and your directly benefiting from that.
MY point is, You shouldnt Ban an Activity because some people are breaking TOS to do it. Punish the player breaking TOS, Not the people Who dont break it.
Shifting blame from the Botter/gold buyers to people that dont do either of those things is Just weird and doesn’t fix the issue at any Compacity.

No but I’ve seen enough of them being run on streams or through guildies to know exactly how much gold gets bid on most of these items. It’s not difficult to go on classic WoW Reddit and see screenshots of people’s pots or specific items being sold for x amount.

Thats the issue here - its not some. It is a lot. Gdkps are the main reason why people buy gold. Yes, you have you guys here and there buying gold for consumables but nothing comes close to the prices of gdkps.
I wish you people would post this crap on your SoD main so we can just /ignore you in game
