I would think that if you came into the group and said this, then it dropped, I wouldn’t care.
If you were in the group and didn’t say you were there for ret gear, not tank gear, I would be pretty concerned as you are rolling off spec with no ones knowledge.
Anyone raiding with you should leave raid, put you on ignore, and forget you exist for eternity. Worthless existence.

I don’t see an issue with this going to a paladin.
It’s mail, instead of plate, so your missing a bit of armor, but I think that can be made up for?
Did anyone agree that this item went to the hunter before hand? Did you actively start using it? If you did, I dunno man, seems fine to me.

Only time there would be a problem, would be if you rolled despite having a pre-arranged agreement on the loot of something.
I’d be more concerned that you thought the Paladin was building his Raid Tanking set (and even then, it’s probably still BIS)…
Yes there is, this one. Too bad you don’t like the spec, too bad Ret is garbage dps, too bad warriors feel entitled to it. He formed the group, he said he was rolling on dps and tank gear, end of story.
I’m not sure what’s worse, rolling on that as a prot pally… or rolling on that as a prot pally planning to play a ret pally.

There is nothing better for a warrior to get in raids, there are options for ret. Quit trolling, idiot.
If you’re tanking and you put the group together, and there were no loot rules in place, then it’s fair game. Granted it’s a waste since ret paladins are a waste, but you didn’t do anything wrong.
If that warrior wanted that chest so bad, he should have put together his own group, or run it with his guild, until it dropped. It’s not even that rare. You can pound that chest out in less than a day.
You imply it’s easy when hunters, wars and enh/ret wants it AND it’s ONE rare loot out of a chance to get this boss. It takes dozens of runs to get it.
I do agree that hunts/wars and enh/ret have the right to roll on this, but frankly your “solution” is not a solution by a long shot, which is having guaranteed loot.

Personally, I would have asked if people minded me needing (I tank, but specced arms) . If there was a Hunter or Shammy in the group, I would have let them have it. I never PUG though.
It’s one of the easier pieces to farm, for sure. You can start doing it, as a warrior in your early 50s, and can even spam run it. It’s not difficult to find groups for, and you can easily hit the 5 runs/hour limit if you are not clearing other bosses.
The actual drop rate is something like 10%, and that’s only if you ghet Gorosh, which I think there’s something like a 1 in 5 chance of getting, so sure, it could take a large number of runs, but considering that as a warrior, spam running instances is a lot more fun than solo questing, yes it’s easy in my opinion (of course, you can argue that difficulty is subjective, and that it would be difficult for you. I’m not saying it has to be easy for you.).
What are you claiming is my “solution?” It certainly is not to be a cry baby about losing a roll. If you are referencing something I’ve put in a previous post, I recommend you quote it (you may want to actually read it first though, to make sure it’s stating what you think it is).

It’s one of the easiest, if not the easiest purple chest in the game to get outside of crafting and bis any melee that can wear it.
This is equivalent to a 2% drop rate when entering the dungeon call out the roles you are going to roll for, just putting that out there.
Currently 56 and have done arena probably 15 times so far, just begun actually. Haven’t seen that boss once so far and what I meant is that if it does drop you’re not guaranteed to win it unless you have a staged group (not sure how you missed that, you literally put 5 bullets repeating the same thing in your post).
Yes the OP is a crybaby and asking guild to ignore is pathetic imo, but I definitely do not agree it is “easy” bc it can take forever to get it.
Literally every warrior rolls on everything that drops- if they don’t straight up reserve it ahead of time. Never feel bad about rolling on gear a warrior wants, they’re the huntards of classic.
Never seen a warrior tank not roll need on dps gear.
If I go into a run with a warrior, regardless of role, as a rogue- I expect him to roll on all leather, all str gear, all agi gear. Probably a spirit staff too.
I have not met one tank that is not main spec dps outside the dungeon. Assume all tanks are only tanking to get the dungeon run going because for the most part they are.
