Chances are pretty good he didn’t know Ogre Forged Hauberk existed for Ret Pallies beforehand, and woulda just rolled when he saw purple.

“play what you like and stuff everyone else” points to bigger societal problems imo but whatever keen doing you.
If you listened to the people that unironically said Classic class balance was better than BfA and you could play what you want; sorry to say but those people are the ultra casuals who have a guild with 30 people and will never clear any real content in the game. There’s tons of those guys still posting daily.
My guild has Rets, they know where they sit on the loot totem pole though.

So, let me just get this right, because I think it’s kind of comical…
A WARRIOR in your group (a paladin), who was DPSing, while you (a Paladin) were tanking, and that WARRIOR is butt hurt that even though he was invited along for the ride, and had a chance at rolling need in a run when he could have been tanking, but instead chose the easy path by just DPSing, and having fun.
And then, that warrior complained to his guild, who all put you on ignore (a Paladin, who had out of the kindness of his heart, tanked for a group, and also happened to roll need on an item that he needed).
I think that warrior should delete his toon at the very least, and never bring such shame to the class as he obviously is. Whiny crybabies shouldn’t play warriors.
Anyway, it’s easy enough to farm Savage Glad. I got mine at like level 52 (maybe 53), tanking my own arena runs.

I’d be pretty tight if i lost a savage chain to a pally lol. Especially since there’s a very similar item in the same dungeon that’s much less rare that you could make work. I’ve had it drop a couple times with the same group and me and another hunter passed so our tank warrior could have it for offspec. Its BiS for fury up into Naxx. I replaced my chest in our second MC run

once you finish dungeon gearing and have a guild - you don’t even need people from outside

The bigger issue is that the item you rolled need on over the warrior isn’t even that good for a pally regardless of spec. And it is one of the best peice of gear a warrior will get in a long time.

Yeah, that’s actually not just pre-raid bis, that’s bis until like phase 5. If anyone is saying that a paladin who is tanking an arena run shouldn’t have rolled on it, then those people should just do a little bit of research (or feel free to get called out on being wrong).

I still find it funny Fury warriors refuse to tank dungeons. This would reduce the competition of people competing on their gear.

Our first Hand of Rag unironically went to an Enhance Sham, and we don’t feel bad about it in the slightest.

Actually savage gladiator chain is better for a ret pally. The next best would be cadaverous armor.

Agreed. I mean, if you are a warrior, there’s not a whole lot stopping you from spam running instances for gear you need. It’s not that big of a deal, imo.
If you really care about it, you can always just form your own groups, and do something like:
- only bring friends
- only bring people from your guild
- only bring people who don’t need the item(s) you need
- use master looter
- do whatever you want, because it’s your group
I’m not saying, go do this, but there’s not really much preventing you from doing whatever you want to enjoy the game however you want. Complaining that another person who needed an item won that item over you on a fair role is childish at best.
