It’s an expansion designed for working people.
That’s a good thing.

big big dub post. exactly this.
I’d rather them seek alternatives than to switch on the daily login Dark Magics.
In the mean time, they can turn on the quests, though, right?
Not even just working people but people who might want to play things that Aren’t WoW.
Did you miss the “before they do” part of the sentence or
Like I said, its an expansion designed for people to NOT play the game.
If y’all think that’s a good way to go then I don’t know what to tell ya.
Im kinda indifferent though tbh. I’ve been playing a lot less this expansion because there is nothing driving me to play(aside from m+ runs with guildies). So yeah its pushing players like me to find other things to do besides play wow.
So if the goal is to have players log in less and playing the game less, yeah, I agree, its a good thing.
If only that were true! I’ve had the new Long Dark DLC, Ixion, and a new Stellaris patch release since Dragonflight came out, and I have time for NONE of them because there’s way too much to do in WoW, right now.
No. Because you didn’t say that.
I’d argue that the people who obsessively do ONLY world quests, and don’t do raids, dungeons, pvp, professions, rare-hunting, collecting, or the variety of other activities in the game RIGHT NOW… they’re the ones “not playing the game”.
Argumentum ad populum
Wait until you find out that forum users are the minority of WoW players.
Yes, that is a good thing to give space into things so that playing the game becomes a voluntary experience and not a nagging wife of a habit that becomes psychologically drummed into your skull.
That’s precisely the goal.
They’re taking a leaf from Naoki Yoshida’s book because it’s shown to work for fostering good faith in a fanbase to not make your game a possessive spouse
…you already have world quests…its called quests that are in the world of warcraft…
But seriously its been fun not being so uptight about completing world quests or being forced to do x y or z to get with the current thing in the patch. Literally i can just choose a thing to do and do it without being denied because of some simple stupid thing i had to complete
…well let’s just pretend I did and ignore that I didn’t.
Bottom line, Daily logins are a thing we want to avoid this go around because coercive game design breeds resentment on a long enough time scale
Absolutely love bi-weekly. Gives me time to mess around with other things in game. Like my lvl locked 57 warrior.
If the quests only give rep, and the rep is a finite grind, you shouldn’t feel the need to do them regardless? Am I missing something here? I feel like I’m having a stroke.
Really? I’m rather glad to run out of stuff to do on the main and go check out the other professions on alts.
There are still things tied to said rep. I’m not on that feels the need to do all of them but in past xpacs there was a fall behind problem if you did.
You don’t need to be a cutting edge raider to still want to bring the best game you can to a raid with your group. Normal, heroic, or mythic, it’s still progression and progression is easier the better equipped your character is.
Got me… i just surf the forum and pay my subscription to keep my posting abilities secured.
No gaming for me!
My man it is not even remotely as consequential as you’re making it sound. I can megafarm rep no problem. Examples.
Fishing for Ishkaraa
Hunts for Maruuk
Digging for Dragonscale
Siege/Artifacts for Valdrakken
It’s not that serious. Bring back daily WQ.
