I Was Wrong

You envy me? Go make friends and you won’t have to envy anyone

I fully support any addon that requires players to take personal responsibility for their actions, reminds me of when players would get blackballed from guilds and groups when we had server communities. I truly hope this addon, or another like it, becomes mainstream.

I do. It must be nice to view the world that way.

Some people are so far behind in the race that they actually believe that they’re leading.

My husbands company does not allow them to give references. All they are allowed to say is that the person did work there. It didn’t matter if they were good or bad.

Someone has to have a lot of ire inside of their hearts to remove someone from a BG just because they are mercing—a perfectly allowed system in the game.

its not used for hatred its used for accountability (something people are scared of in a world where they’re hoping they can stay anonymous)

Its pretty helpful on RP servers to warn of trolls

Allowed does not mean welcome.

I vote kick every horde I can using the mercenary system because the enemy faction doesn’t deserve to be rewarded with a system that lowers their queue times the same way they don’t deserve to be rewarded with an openworld pvp system that gives them +10% benefits for almost zero risk.

If blizzard doesn’t care about alliance PVE balance why should I help them balance their BG?

So this addon is like the Chinese social credit system. I can’t see that being abused at all.

I personally use merc system to lower queue times because I don’t want to wait in a 25+ minute queue every time. I think that your perspective is mean.

Toxicity is unacceptable, especially in the elven community.

If this is what it takes for people to act kindly, then we should welcome it.

That’s exactly what it is - either you act in a manner in accordance to their rules, or be punished. Everyone wants to control everyone. It’s not until you’re under someone else’s thought control that you see it’ as a problem.

In the other thread I asked the developer to define “Toxicity” since it was one of the things he listed that can land you on the list. The question was dodged because it is 100% subjective and is used as a catch all and depends on the reviewer.

It is also way too easy to photoshop a string of messages in a screenshot.

The issue with mercing is a lot of horde players come to alliance and want to play the bg like a horde would

they don’t group with us.

they don’t go the bases alliance normally gets.

They cost the faction whos already has less players to loss even more so horde players who already have their hand around pvps neck can change things up if thats not good enough for them and they’d like to also benefit from a short queue since they don’t care if they win.

That is fair and maybe this manager was under the same policy/rule.

Still, my boss wasn’t under any obligation to give this guy the benefit of the doubt. Someone else got the job who, not surprisingly, was talked very highly by their previous manager and a coworker or 2 (I don’t remember exactly)…guy was basically moving on to seek new challenges and opportunities to grow professionally than what his previous employers could give him.

Really though…it isn’t at all such a wild notion that there are people like me who care more about who you are as a player/person than your gear or IO or progression says about you. For me, this kind of tool is a potential to avoid a potential toxic person.

I do like to benefit from a shorter queue, but I think it’s wrong to troll BGs and do try to win. I disagree with a merc being removed from a BG if they are playing accordingly. Additionally, I also have a ton of Alliance characters that I PvP with, so I think it would benefit players to understand that many people who merc likely know how to strategize on both factions.

Define toxicity objectively in how it will be used in banning people. What counts as toxicity? It can’t a big wide net.

Still waiting for someone to tell me what this addon is exactly or give me the name so I can look at it myself.

I don’t know the name, but I know that the addon allows people in BGs to see who is mercing. It’s been mentioned in a lot of my BGs lately, players calling out Alliance mercs.

Interesting.
