Well the simplest solution would be to not pug stuff and worry about it but this is literally akin to how servers worked in the past people developed a reputation and if someone doesn’t like you enough that they can get ten friends to report you then you probably did something to deserve it imo
I could get 10 people to report you right now. Do you deserve it?
Oh this will help the community sooooooooooooooo much… and In the background I can hear all the laughter of the trolls who will abuse it. The sad thing is the people here defending it. ‘Absolute power corrupts absolutely’
Literally only one person seems to be defending this on here while the rest are bringing up great points as to how this is bad news.
Something fishy with that “one” person constantly pushing for it… maybe we should all make note.

Why do you think you should be immune to consequences? Yes something came up IRL and you had to go…but you just killed someone’s hard earned key which, at the least, puts them in a bad position of having to push it back up or find a group to pug.
Would “I” leave a bad comment under that circumstance? No but I’d certainly hesitate to invite you if I see a string of bad comments saying you abandon keys (whether the IRL emergency bit was mentioned or not).
To be more blunt…your IRL problems are not more important to most other people than their time and efforts in this game. Find a group of friends or guildies to connect with on a personal level if you want that kind of understanding…don’t look for it in the pug world where your only worth is a series of calculations.
What is the addon? I want to see what horrible things people are saying about me.

You can’t afford to be that naive. You just can’t trust people with something like that. It’s a sad state of affairs, but that’s just the way it is. Hopefully you figure that out sooner rather than later.

It’s not going to effect anyone because it’ll never be allowed to gain traction, but some lessons apply to regular life too. I hope you’re not this trusting of people out in the real world lol.
I’d actually be curious what people think happens IRL when you start moving up the professional ladder and start applying to white collar mid management/senior office jobs? Most of them, fair warning, won’t even get you to the eyes of the hiring manager without a list of many (3 minimum) professional references and some even go as far as to specify direct managers or subordinates.
It’s a reality for many people that you have curated and can prove you have a professional image at a bare minimum beyond just technical qualifications and especially if the field isn’t super large, you often get the job solely based on the good word or networking from previous contacts.
I hope you realize that your literally causing yourself stress working yourself up about an addon that only effects people who pug. Get some friends and play and this will never bother you. The funny thing is you correlate this to RL when I’ve literally stated that this is a game
So is this just an addon that lets people report m+ leavers who are particularly toxic?

It’s actually illegal to defame someone in a reference call. You can sue you previous employer if you find them to be doing this.

This is true but good luck finding out.
I sat in for an interview once and we had a guy picked out that sounded good on paper but had only 1 reference…my boss called and got to talk to the direct manager who said “I will confirm he worked here from X to Y”…my manager asked if he was a good worker and stuff and the manager, again, said “I can only confirm that he worked here from X to Y”
My boss thanked him, hung up, and trashed the resume. Message was received loud and clear.
