I Was Wrong

To the guy who created the player “blacklist” addon that allowed the submission of negative reports about other players and then allowed anyone using the addon to see the comments…without clear moderation or appeals process.

I was wrong. Customer Support and the GMs don’t care. Good luck with your new add-on.

To the guy that was kicked from his BG because an add-on identified him as a player using the mercenary system which allowed players to vote kick them.

I was wrong. The GMs/Customer Support isn’t going to help you. I am sorry that you have to deal with that harassment, but I doubt it’s going to stop anytime soon. You did the right thing by posting here, because it is the only way to get it addressed apparently.

I submitted a ticket about add-on harassment yesterday and the response was:

“Game Masters and customer support in general have no control over what addons are allowed. If you feel this needs to be looked into further, you’ll want to provide your feedback about it on our WoW General forums. From there, our developers will be able to see your feedback and take further action from there as only they can make the changes you might be after.”

So I’m pretty confident that nothing is going to be done to address these addons. It’s just something that we are going to have to adjust to.

I don’t see this addon lasting very long.

I will never download any addon that is meant to be used for hatred.

Yeah their customer support is just non existent.

I didn’t know such an addon existed btw

Are you talking about this? Or is there something new that’s shown up?

https://wowrep.io/

No. It was a new one on curseforge that someone was spamming everywhere yesterday

You submit your negative reports to a discord and players in game can see your comments while forming groups.

The most concerning part is that it is player moderated…and that you can’t tell if you have negative comments against you unless you download the addon

There’s not much the mods can do about addons though, this requires a coding solution to break it. Or the company sending the author a letter telling them to remove their addon.

CS can only send the report of this addon to those in charge.

Oh, I found it. Yikes lol.

I get that concept, but you would still think there would be a more direct line.

Recommending that you post on the forums in the hopes that the developers might actually notice your comment just seems like a super inefficient system

You mean like twitter? Where you can send a message directly to Blizzard Devs/hire ups.

Considering that an addon that let players block LA/BR servers ended up getting banned, I think they would eventually get to looking into it after a while.

Dev’s read the forums? That’s a joke.

That is a good point. You could direct message them on social media. When I originally made the report I was hoping for something more direct in game, but if the forums are the only option…DMs might not be a horrible option

Ouch, this does seem like a horrible system. Seems like people could use it to dogpile a player who they just don’t like but hasn’t actually done anything in game since there is no real verification. It might even fall under harassment.

If you’ve linked your twitter in game, you could go that route. There is also an option to send suggestions through the ticket system, which from what we’ve been told go directly to the devs.

GM’s, I agree, but their customer support can be more than just ‘‘go to forums’’.

Warcraftdevs on twitter are more responsive if you DM them details + issue for the most part. Though I feel like this shouldn’t be how customer support should be like for any company lol

In the end, a group for dungeons is cheap and easily replicable, chances are youll never see or interact with those people again anyway.

Exactly. Someone messes up and you move along to the next dungeon with a new group of random players.

With addons like the blacklist one I mentioned, you make one player unhappy and you may have a negative mark on that toon forever…that you may or may not even know about.

That’s pretty dumb. They care about TRP 3, but not this one?
