No single player decides what is toxic or not but rather rates people on who is interesting and enjoyable to be around and then ranks other players based on their similarities.
You the user would get to decide what you consider toxic or just not fun to be around. And the scores would be for you alone.
So I might show up as a 5 for frank because he loves banter and to talk about philosophy at 5am.
But I might show up as a 1 for religious individual who like to talk about god or the woke crowd.
That would be a disaster. The mage that forgets to put a table down in a bg would be labeled as toxic. Some players think that everything is toxic. I can count the toxic players that I’ve run into since 8.1 on one hand. Some of you guys would count in the hundreds or thousands. You’re just not qualified to make that distinction.
Just report it to Blizzard or get over it. You have a grand total of 2 choices.
You would think but those players keep putting themselves into those situations. If you run into a toxic player one time, that player was toxic. If you run into toxic players all day long, you’re the toxic player. Those people should not be able to take part in a feedback system. They cannot handle that. There’s no way around it.
To expand on this; if someone is “toxic”, racist, homophobic, etc. Report them to Blizzard in game. That way they will get removed from EVERYONE rather than only those who use the addon.
If you enjoy playing with someone, ask to add them to your friends list in game.
Now you have eliminated the toxic people and added friendly people to your community. No addon needed. No constant updates required.
And definitely no false reports from people who may be racist, homophobic, toxic or trolling.
I think you’re missing the point I’m trying to make.
If you find the person who views everyone and everything as toxic then their reviews would not effect your scores in any way. It would only affect the scores they see and others who think like them.
You might see my score as a 3. Bob who loves to misdirect to the mage every pull might see me as a 5 while Brittney who does nothing but talk about how great AOC is and thinks every white male should be removed from the face of the world would see me as a 1.
No individual decides who is toxic except for themselves. If your rating are similar to others then your scores are shared only amongst that group (and if your polar opposites perhaps a reverse score can be given to those polar opposites.)
You again have the one vs many problem, as we already said, negative reviews are far more common.
One person has as they perceive it, a toxic interaction with a player, they then tell their like minded people about it, they then go out and negatively review and the problem compounds itself.
This same effect does not happen with positive reviews because agian, its a very real thing, people are more likely to leave a negative review then a positive.
Let’s pretend for a moment like an addon like this would even be allowed to gain any kind of traction. The general population of this game cannot responsibly use something like that. By the time you weeded out all the people that would report any class they didn’t like or report every player that ganked them or reported every forum poster that they disagreed with…there’d be nothing left.
It’s a problem that you guys don’t see the problem with this. Do you not realize that these toxic player that you guys are somehow running into all the time are going to be able to use this thing too? They’re already doing it.
How does the author consider the validity of the report? I can easily bait someone to say terrible thing and screenshot it or straight up photoshop their comments, or in M+ i can just not heal someone i don’t like so he died from unavoidable mechanic and get them blacklisted.
I hope this addon do become popular, it will be a heaven for the trolls in this game.
Again there is a reason why im against systems like this.
The issue is the author is trying to moderate a community they do not even have the abilities to properly moderate, nor the authority to.
I fear that we are talking over each other and can’t understand what the other is saying.
Your proposed scenario would not effect anyones score as they are all weighted on what you find acceptable or not.
Perhaps its because I didn’t include how reports are made and how they are scored.
There is a desktop app that hold the algorithms and writes the database scores.
on log in your asked to take a quick personality quiz.
Your asked things like:
Are you offended when people criticize your religion?
Are you offended if people don’t support LGBT?
Are you offended by people practicing their sexual practices or talking about them?
Have you ever left a M+ before it was complete?
How much do you care if others leave your M+ key before its complete?
and so on…
There would be a variety of categories.
Each category has several different options.

Communication 1-5
1- I hated every moment they spoke.
3 - Did not communicate at all.
5 - I found their conversation enjoyable.
Did the player leave the M+ key
yes or no.

Each persons score is then derived upon what you find acceptable.Someone who sees the world differently and holds different values would not effect the scores you see at all.
Instead of a polarized score you get a multipoint personality shape (shape is what is created when plotting the points)
and others scores are based off your personality.
