Hard hitting abilities like aimed shot and earth shock can hit hard in a bg. If you take the beserker buff with bg pots that right there is like what 50% more damage?
Big attacks+ cds+ bg buffs= 1 shot.
I bet if you took the zerker with bg pots and used ferocious bite or starsurge with your cd you’re gonna 1-2 shot some too.
Make a thread that will find a solution to the problem.
MM hits hard at low levels, ever try a MM hunter with incendiary ammo on BOA weapon? Basic gear will provide enough results, skilled players have made it happen naked with only BOA gun/Scope.
Really until they make some of their planned changes until you reach a certain level there will always be some things that can either 1 shot you or take you down in 2-3 seconds. My 69 priest always has a tough time, mainly even more so when they cycle their cc right and there is little you can do about it outside of cool downs. We will see where this stands in 8.1.5 but as of now the lower you go the more unbalanced it will be. A lot of this is due to specs and classes however, and unless they start balancing lower levels differently from max level, this will never change. Arcane mages are one of the strongest specs in lower levels even retaining there strength in higher lvl bgs. They lose a lot of leverage when people get more abilities that can counter them, but before especially with their disproportional dmg to health, it will take you out in probably up until 49 or 59 somewhere there maybe even higher. Boomkins are another high dmg one as long as you ignore them, this goes for arcane mages too. As people said they buffed aimed shot by a bit, probably making it a bit broken in lower levels but its at an alright strength at higher levels. Could probably use a little more of a buff there due to its cast time. But of course lower levels, lack of abilities, etc. It really doesn’t take much to get the extra pieces to make you viable. You likely have been getting dungeon gear with sockets, all you have to do is buy the +5 +5 gems with them, socket it, and enchant those, then you never have to buy gear for most of your leveling experience. Either that, or you could just use heirlooms and replace/enchant the other pieces, both ways work. As of right now though, a lot of procs are broken in low lvl bgs much more so than high lvl. 8.1.5 should aim to fix most of this, but if there are any outliers you see when it is released you could probably submit a bug report to get it fixed. Sadly however, you will always seem weak or unable to compete vs the strong class/spec in an amplified effect at low levels unless they change their balancing stance.
It is indeed disappointing that being geared to the teeth (and realistically, playing an overtuned class) is basically a requirement for living more than a few seconds between deaths in leveling BGs. Even with enchanted heirlooms, you’re gonna get curbstomped by players who’ve decided to live in whatever bracket you’re unfortunate enough to be in.
I have no expectations of being able to dominate with less-than-BiS gear in leveling BGs. I think that’s true of most people. That said, we also don’t want to obliterated while being geared as is reasonably possible for levelers (without turning off XP or dumping levels of gold that are bloody insane for below-120 gear).
It’s not too much to ask for separate brackets. If twinks value competition as much as they claim to, they’ll relish having a noob-free bracket to themselves again. We all know that’s not what twinking is actually about, though…
LOL of course there were twinks in Legion. Both 99 and 101 were popular levels to twink at. You never heard of twink power leveling? Are you sure you played Legion? I had 6 twinks I used to farm resources, spam dungeons for fun, and do carries in Legion.
It’s really not all that simple. Here are some of the issues.
There are a lot of players trying to level in battlegrounds who have never done pvp before, and who have awful gear because they’ve been doing everything possible to avoid doing things like questing and dungeons, that provide decent gear. These people are basically helpless because their gear is so bad and they don’t understand enough about what is going on to help.
I saw an ele shaman today in a 69 bracket who was asking how to play that spec, because he showed up to a bg in a spec he didn’t know how to play.
People who are really good at pvp because they’ve been doing it a long time are a lot better at it than you.
Blizzard encourages players to group up with friends. In pvp that’s what’s called a premade. Twinks like to group with twinks so they don’t get stuck with 11 other players who either can’t or won’t do what needs to be done.
The problem is premades, not twinks.
I play twinks in a number of different brackets. I always solo queue. I always look at both teams before the bg starts, and check the number of players who are maxed for that bracket. Those are usually about what should be expected, maybe 1 in 10. If I see 5 99’s in the 99 bracket, it’s pretty sure it’s a premade.
It’s not a problem when you or the other side has a twink on their team.
Blizzard needs to stop putting pugs against premades. It’s not fair to the pugs. They should balance premades so either each team has a premade or neither does.
Putting two 5 man premades working together in discord into a raid against a team that has none is unconscionable.
The strength of 101s was the ability to solo farm Artifact knowledge from regular dungeons. Speed running method. Having the Artifact traits unlocked with a nice fat ilvl weapon through strong relics.
This plus full Titanforged BOES created a level of disparity that was almost unobtainable within the 99, 101-109 brackets.
