Point out why.
You said he is a “twink in progress” but don’t understand what he is accomplishing with his setup. Some of the best gear is found through the AH. Yes, you can perform exceptionally well without having to be all epic’d out in 1M worth of gear.
Is he best-in-slot?
Do you need to be BiS? Well, maybe YOU do lol

I prefer the term “Gearnetically enhanced”. But let’s break it down for just a minute.
I have:
1 heirloom
5 pieces of dungeon gear.
3 pieces of marks of honor gear (which for a druid is BiS)
2 pieces of quest gear. Very easy quests.
5 pieces from the AH.
While you mention the epic, which is a very good piece, I would take a Foamspittle Staff if I could get one off the AH any day over it.
As far as the fully enchanted:
If you have played for many, many years, don’t you have an enchanter? A leatherworker? I equip and use things at my disposal to better my chances of contributing to a win. Even if I was just passing through, I would still obtain the best that I could get.
Nah, I’m pretty much done gearing except browsing the AH. I could squeeze some more versa into the build but I like where my SP / versa are currently.

There are twinks and there are wannabe twinks. There are expert twinks and soft core twinks. There are well geared twinks and best in slot twinks. There are pro twinks and casual twinks. There are troll twinks and twinks that hop away. There are twinks that win and twinks that get pwned. There are twinks in the basement and twinks at the store. Time to gear up the twinks.

He’s not BiS; therefore, “in progress”. Still a twink, just not a BiS twink quite yet. A distinction with little difference.
His experience is off. He’s very well over the gear and stat levels of people levelling through that bracket. Also, he has an eternity to gear up whereas questers only have until they’re out of that bracket.
If your experience is off, you are on a whole other playing field and should be playing in a field of your own. Again.
As I mentioned above, you’re still exceptionally overgeared compared to most levellers.
You’d have to fork out thousands upon thousands to be able to buy new pieces every time they’re available, and then have to enchant them on top of that.
Also, that shouldn’t be necessary. Wasn’t before.
No one said you had to be BiS, it’s picking apart me saying he’s a “twink-in-progress”. I made the mistake of using that term to refer to a twink in BiS gear and it’s become the tunnel vision fixation to pretend there’s a point behind it.
Besides Legion it was.

Completely viable in one of the most treacherous brackets.
BOA, crafted pieces, common BOE, basic Enchants.
10k gold is equivalent to $2 if players do not have the time.
How many characters will that help??

Where did I say you had BiS? You don’t have to be. You do have time on your side when it comes to gearing and such, however.
Aimed Shot -> Arcane Shot. Both hit precisely at the same time.

Even in Legion, some enchants worked. Black Magic being one of them.
From 2005 to 2014 gear mattered. Level mattered too. It was suicide to enter a BG between x0-x4. Even x5 would have a tough time.
You’re lying to yourself if you deny you needed gear prior to Legion.
