I was hyped for tbc

Leveling isnt an achievement. Bots do it. You can afk though it.

Pretty sure he did, but that was like, ten years ago and I might be wrong.

Anyone else getting annoyed by the 2 retail monks just coming in and pooping on peoples genuine feelings in there threads? Just non stop these 2 monks 24/7 spamming peoples threads trolling.

Nail on the head there.
There are some that will argue that these things will ruin it, but I can get past these things. But honestly it just seems to be an obvious toe in the water checking the temperature before they dive in with cash shop galore.

I just want to say, that I think it’s silly that you got reported. I didn’t report you, nor would I simply because you hold an opinion that differs from mine. That being said, I’m ready to show how much I disagree with you :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

While I understand there are some (not all) that find the Leveling process to be a “chore”, I still find it an accomplishment that players did take the time to level as opposed to just throwing money to “by pass” the leveling process.

But no Professions :slightly_smiling_face:

How else are you going to level Belves, Draenei and JC? The Old World isn’t really all that “skippable”

It’s not so much “keeping it relevant” because it’s still relevant, even in BC. It’s about the point of an RPG, in the first place. And, that is leveling is part of an RPG :slightly_smiling_face:

I would suggest that RPGs maybe just aren’t meant for folks that don’t like leveling :woman_shrugging:

It reduces the number of people out in the open world and rushes people into endgame content faster. Less people in the world = world feels dead. People getting into endgame content quickly = burning said content faster and either burning out or just becoming weekly raid loggers.

Yes there are people who don’t like leveling who likely would not make the character without the boost but that’s just it. Leveling is a massive part of the older versions of WoW. With that said most “anti-boosters” are not worried about a one-time only boost but what it could lead to. Adding this mount into the mixture only further presses the fact that it could lead to more micro transactions that do nothing but water the game down.

Ya except for the fact that you missed the part where leveling is a reward in itself. It might be minor compared to a t6 or a gladiator mount, but it’s still a reward and part of the progression of the game.

I mean, sure? But it’s not like every level can be considered a reward. Really, milestones matter most, and 58-70 is a big milestone. Hitting 70 is all that matters in TBC in terms of “completion”.

For some and for some not, and 58 levels isnt easy to come by which is why people want to be able to boost through them. That effort that others have made and to those that find it rewarding have their experience undermined.

Get over yourselves with this human nature nonsense.

I joined a guild of like minded players who have similar goals and playstyles as me. That is who I work with to complete my goals. They are the ones I support to help achieve their own.

I accomplished most all of my goals in this game, the way I wanted to. Someone paying for a Naxx carry on a freshly dinged 60 and loots the quest trinket from KT, in no way invalidates my journey to do the same with my team.

Trying to keep up with the Joneses is a marketing ploy used to control you. Stop caring about what others have or do is the first step in breaking away from that sheep mentality.

It was for the classic project. Have a little more class than to try and lawyer away a pretty clear promise to the community.

If that’s the case then they need to take Classic off the TBC label. Because boosts would mean classic IS over.

Yep and you can still do it if you want.

Call it what you want, it was still considered part of the game and you were expected to do it if you had characters you wanted to play.

It doesn’t justify a boost service.

Except TBC was never even discussed by them until Classic was confirmed to have been a success, and Classic TBC is - intentionally - a separate, “game” than Classic, just as Classic was from live.

It is very obvious that they take it very seriously. They have to make money, sure, but they also have to take into account what players want - and the survey that lead to this boost obviously did that too.

It’s almost like something that wouldn’t make sense for classic does make perfect sense for TBC classic.

It diminishes the achievement because of the perception of other people. In a game without boosts, if you saw a player with amazing-looking gear and an amazing looking mount (take the nether drake for example) it makes you actually want to interact with the mechanics of the game. You think “oh wow, that mount looks really cool and I want it” and then you go and play pvp, which boosts player interaction, which is the core idea behind an MMO in the first place.

If you can buy something that has the same or similar cosmetic value to something that you can earn in game, then why bother playing the game for an extended period at all?

i love to level. it’s what i do most of the time when i play. level and relevel alts. but not everyone enjoys it. the thing that people are not understanding from the anti boost side, is this. the boost FOR ME doesn’t mean that’s the only way i’d get to outlands. i have plans to level multiple toons still in classic. tbc classic. ON TOP OF the 3497593485 toons i level in retail. a lot of us have leveled over and over and over again. not because we got kicked off private servers. but because we are altoholics. the toon i’m posting on right now. i used my boost to boost him from like 93 to 100 when i had the newest boost at the time. i used it on him, despite leveling him most of the way, because it was free. i’ve never boosted a toon i haven’t gotten to at least mid 80s in retail. most are duplicates of things i’ve had at cap. i’ve leveled every classic multiple times. MANY times. the most irrational arguments i’ve seen yall make is that as retail toons we won’t make it through the leveling process. most retail players have done it 4358978573495 times. the reason it was changed is so we could have more toons at cap. not A toon at cap. you get me?

That’s not a part of my argument. Ya I can still go level, and so can anyone, but the fact that boost are in the game will directly devalue the reward of leveling for everyone in the game and also indirectly devalue every reward that stems past level 58 for everyone in the game just like how a store mount that looks relatively as cool as a gladiator mount devalues getting a gladiator mount.

If someone else boosting or having a nice mount takes away from your, “reward”, you derive too much self worth from this game.

Every reward from level 1-58 is immediately devalued questing in Outlands.
