I was hyped for tbc

Yeah its odd

People need this game to validate their lives. If they arent lording over others here where else can they do it? I think its just a select few that have to constantly be comparing themselves to others in a video game. Most can handle it just fine and play for enjoyment

hUmAn nAtUre…its a video game lol.

Well classic community seems open minded

There’s no difference between someone leveling a new main from 1 and boosting from 58. There are limits on the boost, and the only thing it does is make TBC more accessible to newer players.

oh thanks for this, I was wondering which of my posts was the one that got flagged!

sheesh, of all the things I’ve said this was the one that triggered people? I’m honestly kind of impressed

Not like boosted characters start out with good gear (appearance and stats), look at retail level boosts, nothing to be scared about

Holy wall of text explaining why a level 58 in junk gear in TBC is a not issue and completely undermining your own position.

If they get banned they can just create a new free account and level within 3 days… which is substantially cheaper then paying for a boost.

Yup. Bots already hit 60 quickly, reduce the EXP required to hit 60 by a third and it’s also potentially lucrative - especially early, as early mats are going to be very valuable for a while.

They don’t get achievements til wrath buddy

First day of TBC beta and Twitch has like 60k viewers total. I think there’s not much hype at all, OP.

Can we stop with this? Bots won’t touch the boost with a 10 foot pole when they can buy 4 accounts with the same amount, make 4 times as much money, and take on 1/4th the risk while doing so.

In the extreme short term, yes, boosting is more profitable. But short of Blizzard doing banwaves every couple of weeks, having 4 times as many accounts running is better 99% of the time.

Do you have proof bots won’t touch it? If so, please provide your source because I see it as a gateway for botters to get to current content.

I could ask you the same thing. Why would someone trying to make money go out of their way to not only make less, but quadruple their chances of watching their entire investment go up in smoke?

Have you ever heard of “Spend money to make money”? Clearly the boosts will help the people botting for herbs/ore and other professions get to current content to sell for max gold. Then they could go and sell that gold they made and easily make 10x fold of what they paid in one go. Go watch madseason’s video. He breaks it down in detail.

If you add at most a week and a half onto that timeline, the exact same thing is true but with 4 accounts instead of 1, on top of the gold gained from leveling up. Spending money to make money implies that you’re trying to maximize the return on your investment, which outside of Blizzard starting to ban several orders of magnitude more frequently, is 99% of the time to run more accounts.

It was a shirt.

The best part is the guy who got the shirt felt weird about it and reported that he had it. THEN they perma-banned him.

No, the guild got entirely banned because they used it.

How does that negate what I said?

He didn’t report that he had it. They used it, and Blizzard noticed it.
