I think M+ only appeals to small segment of the player base

In their methodology page, the data source you quoted claims to filter out alts by matching achievement dates.

Those aren’t engagement numbers though. It’s just how many players got the Keystone Explorer Achievement which is 1500 Rating or higher.

How? I’m showing real data pulled from the armory. 43% was for ONE season in DF the rest of the seasons were lower. Funny how to locked onto the number.

as i stated above, you all are talking like that 30% of content IS THE ONLY ENDGAME CONTENT… I don’t like raiding or PvP but i like dungeons (in all forms). 30-40% isn’t a bad figure. If ya’ll are going to talk about end game content you need to include all forms of it. 70% of the player base is engaging in other forms of endgame content OR, they didn’t get the keystone achievement but did lower levels of M+… this data/discussion is skewed AF

For the Achievement. That data doesn’t include players who just run a couple of low keys a week for Vault and gear. There’s a reason M+ is granular in difficulty.

I want my MMO back, I want a game that isn’t designed for a niche audience of players that want to grind rated PVE 5 mans.

All roads lead to M+ now, it has been this way for a long time.

So you want back raid or die? Lol

Thanks for the clarification.

It’s a minority but the assumption you’re making is that 30% of people are doing m+ and you’re putting everything else in the other 70%. When the more accurate calculation would be to put that % up against other %s.

Achievements for KSE are account wide. If it’s scraping the armory, it would automatically count all characters of the same account that has KSE. I have KSE for DF season 1 on a character that I never did M+ with in that season. So the numbers are muddled on any data you’re trying to collect on any character.

Speaking of kse, do you get that at like… all 2s now? Lol

You are literally including ONE type of end game content… and you are excluding casuals basically who did run M+ but didn’t get the M+ achievement you referenced…
if 40% interact with M+ cause they enjoy it
if 30% interact with raids
and if 30% pvp that equals 100% of the player base.

90% of players don’t have to run a form of content for it to be successful.

If this was your play habits, you would get KSE.

What does that even mean?

I’ve been playing since Vanilla and before M+ we spammed Dungeons looking for drops and then later Heroics for Badges on non Raid nights.

What do you think is missing for you as an M+ hater and non Raider? I think Blizz has done a great job for players like you in TWW.

You think grinding the same dungeons week after week really fixes this?

Use required all 5s or something before season 4

If all you ran was 2s

Nope. Try again.

I find it enjoyable yes

But before m+ you raided or pvped or you did what? I always ask the question of “what did you do in wrath or cata or mop if you didn’t raid that you can’t do now” and I never get an answer

Since TBC wow has been an instance grinder though.
Farm badges. Farm justice/valor. By all means I’m not a fan of valorstone/flightstones because its just a bottleneck for upgrades but at the end of the day it’s really all the same.

I’d like to know as well.

Man, I always hit a nerve with M+ players. Even when presented with actual data on the poor participation numbers, you guys still try to gaslight folks into thinking that this content is just the bees knees.

TBC was not an instance grinder.
