Being able to freely swap covenants will not take anything away from your or anyone else. Choices and options are nothing but good things in an RPG not locked into one aspect of a system. Freely swapping would mean players would get to play and experience more of the game not less. You want restrictions for the sake of restrictions. Iâve yet to hear ONE argument against freely swapping that doesnât boil down to a childish mentality of âbecause I want it this wayâ.

You can still freely swap and experience the entire game with one character though, itâs not like Blizzard forced you into a permanent decision.
For instance Iâm going Kyrian at the start and Venthyr at the end for the first season to do Mythic plus and Torghast, then raiding at the end.
#1 all star dps in mythic Nyâalotha is a BM hunter. BM stacks up quite well. Itâs one of the highest simming specs in the game, which doesnât account for mechanics.
If thereâs no adds you just donât play rapid reload. That doesnât have much value without a second target close to the main target, and gains insane value on many stacked targets, hence itâs always taken in mythic+. You also have 2 min CD on wild and barely any CD on bestial wrath because of the CDr on barbed shot. You are one of the least cooldown dependent DPS classes in the game.

Yeah I am primarily a BfA M+er thatâs the lens Iâm looking through in terms of BM performance.

Racials donât actually matter in the grand scale of things unless youâre doing high end PvE or pushing Gladiator.

True, but the option is still there if you wanna take it. How long is the process to get back in? 1 week? Maybe two? Easy.
Then itâs not freely swappable now is it?
Then you must know how much easier it is do dps compared to classes that have to stop doing damage on movement or move out of melee range to do mechanics. Even if they was a melee that should do double your damage on paper, they wonât outperform you if there are mechanics preventing them from executing their rotation.
Yeah let me just add Bull Rush to my rotation and see how that pans out.
You can still freely swap, itâs your choice. It just prevents the min maxers from min maxing as often, a much hated group of people.
If itâs time gated then its not free swap.

Itâs very different.
Racials are like a 1% difference in damage.
Covenants are so massively different you canât even analyze them the same as racials.
Look at priest for example.
How can you compare boon of the Ascended to the Night Fae ability? Having the ability to feed other classes primary resource is going to create super broken interactions. Calling it now, every high end priest will be Night Fae, and this will get nerfed hard.
I dont see how me saying min maxers are a hated group of people make me spiteful but okay. I dont care what casuals do, but the hypocrisy from them to elites or min maxers is mind boggling.

If I play a spec for 5 months straigh without changing and just feel like playing another with a different covenant class ability that fits that spec a lot better, just for a change of scenerey for a while, but still want to main the the spec I always have, am I really that deplorable? I donât respec day to day, or even week to week, but this system punishes me even if I want to just go do something else for a while without having to do a 2 week long grind to get back to my main thing.
If this was a single player game, or a game that didnât have obscenely challenging content⌠Iâd agree.
But itâs not, so I donât.
Once again Blizzard uses the hard work of artists to bait us into the evil manipulative mind traps made by their dev team.
The dev team needs to sink or swim on their own systems and stop getting carrys.
Which is why you need to plan your route out like I did until they fix it. They are going through with this system as it is nke at launch, be prepared for it or Illidaddy is gonna tell u whatâs up
