If I were a betting man, I’d put money on flight being locked to level 50, if not 60, in Shadowlands.
So here is my 2 cents/…I JUST returned to the game after quitting in Legion.
I deleted my old DH and started a new one using Heirloom gear and I leveled from 98-120 and did pathfinder 1 & 2 in 5 days played. I Got flying as of yesterday.
Five days played to level to 120 from 98 AND do all the quests needed AND war campaign AND reputation needed. I really don’t see that as a huge grind that is driving anyone away. What I see are people who just want everything handed to them and who probably had no intention of staying anyway.
5 Days played…is anyone seriously going to argue that is too long to get flying from SCRATCH? Also keep in mind if I would have started during the WQ event happening this week it would have been cut down by at least a day or more.
I legit have no desire to do path BfA Pathfinder… Now if I was forced into content that I don’t already have flying then sure? Visions are on old content and M+ can summon me or I just take stroll over to a flight master and read some blogs on random Wow stuff… Can’t do that when I have to drive!
No one goes out of their way to grind rep.
That isn’t playing the game as that was never how WoW was built.
No. Got mine months ago.
That would defy the alt friendly push that Blizz argues shadowlands is going to be about.
I totally understand. I HATE rep grinding. I didn’t get flight until December I think.
I DO have pathfinder but I will always support it’s removal or at the very least a severe laxing in both requirements and the delay. Getting revered doesn’t sound too bad and for ~most~ factions it’s not, but of course there’s always one in every iteration it’s had since the founding in WoD such as Saberstalkers. In legion it was Suramar for me (god I HATED that rep unlock) because it was time gated with many dailies locked behind revered. In BfA it was a toss up between Tortollan for part one or Nazjatar because of the zones verticality.
Still even with the super limited amount of Tortollan dailies it was the the idiotic delay between 8.1 and 8.2 that left me feeling less excited about flying and more “Oh thank god that’s over”.
This is the problem for me as well.
I don’t either OP. I just returned I’d say a week ago from being away for about 4 to 6 months or so. I am about to unlock it at the end of the week. I was burned out personally but after coming back I find that I’m enjoying myself more. after flight I’ll go after the rep for that backpack transmog lol. I’ll probably level horde just so I can view the story and unlock some of their ARs as well. I also have to go back to WOD to unlock flight there.
That’s all pathfinder is, a punishment. It’s blizzards childish, vindictive lashing out because of the massive backlash when they announced no more flying.
Well will they extend that punishment for shadowlands? All those WoW refugees are flying around in FF so why would they come back if there is going to be a squish and another round of PF?
And why will new players be subjected to grind 1-50 on the ground and then be grounded further in shadowlands by a new PF?
I feel sorry for new players that will walk into this buzzsaw. I really do because for them to experience WoW with a ground and pound experience of BFA leveling from 10-50 is going to be brutal.
I don’t see any reason why they can’t lock out flying and say things are so alt friendly with a new leveling system that you don’t need flying. Blizzcon is also aspirational hype-fluffing, and our definition of alt friendly may significantly differ from their’s.
Mechagon is going to take longer than that without flight. I did it on one horde character for pathfinder and have not stepped foot in there again except on an alliance character who did two quests and got no others. Seemed like a good reason to stop.
That is true.
But alt friendly being quicker leveling may be all they are selling. But from what I am reading from other players waiting for shadowlands info is how and when ground and flying mount usage will be unlocked in shadowlands.
So, it is entirely possible the devs have tunnel vision on this and are not seeing the bigger picture of what is wrong with the current PF, ground/flying mounts and flight path systems.
Because that won’t fool anybody. You must think people are really stupid not to know whether they’re having fun or not.
I can see why blizzard does pathfinder. It’s a grind to keep you playing more. But I can see how some people don’t like it.
What do you mean 5 days. Like 120 hours, five days or 3 hours a day for a total of f15 hours, Five days? Because if you mean 15 hours can you give me your secret.
Same haven’t done Nazjatar yet haven’t had consistent game time play
I honestly was trying to get it but the grinding was the problem. I couldn’t bare to keep doing it so I said I’ll just pay for flying then mount the way to my destination.
