PF is designed to keep players playing for long time. Yes we hate it. Blizz loves it. Makes them cash.
If you want to try and get it, simply take each toon that has advanced the farthest on a individual rep, and push that toon over. You don’t have to have a single toon with all the reps, just need the achieve on one of your toons.
I don’t know if it’s the same for Loremaster, however. Do you need Loremaster (which is all the quests in all the zones), or simply the collection of the individual Loremasters, one toon doing each zone.
The point being, simply, that just because you haven’t stuck to a single toon, doesn’t mean you’ve not made actual, substantial progress. Just a matter of focusing on the individual achieves with the toon most qualified for it at the time.
Yeah, I dont know why but this happened to be the guy I started posting on once the forum revamp hit. And I figure this way if I say anything dumb it doesnt reflect negatively on my guild.
Not not in a boat im on my flying mount in the sky
Sounds like a wasted effort then.
Oof, right in the feels.
I absolutely DESPISE Blizzard’s stance on flying. They want to hold it away from us until most of the meaningful open world content (that would benefit from having flying) is already done. It’s such a backward anti-fun stance its sick. One of the major reasons I’ve not preordered SL. I won’t play wow unless flying is obtainable.
I just started playing again and I didn’t have Pathfinding for WoD, Legion, or BFA. I just now unlocked flying for WoD. This grind is hell ngl
It is less punishing for them then it was for existing players who spent the year on the ground. They will just spend a month and get flying, where we spent a month to get PFP1, then 10 months on the ground, then a few more weeks to get PFP2. They can do PFP1 and PFP2 simultaneously.
What helped me was to have a goal, other than just flying. Like, my Mechagon rep came from my wanting the wheel mount. So, I made a list of what I needed for Mecha-Done and did some every day. The rep came through playing. Also helped that the meta achievement had to be done on a single character when it came out so I had to take the same alt every time.
Nazjatar was harder to focus on, and my rep there isn’t much higher than when I got flying. But I don’t remember Nazjatar taking that long to rep up, especially since I was spending my time in Mechagon.
Having ADD I do get the difficulty of sticking with one alt. I have six freaking vulpera for example and, even though I don’t play many of them, I keep hitting the 50 character cap. So having a small goal to focus on, like the dailies in a zone that day, instead of thinking about everything needed for Pathfinder kinda helps. If I think about the big picture of a meta achievement I lose focus and wander on to something else. … Which is what’s happening with my vulpera. I can’t really deal with thinking about all the new systems for 8.3 so I’m just leveling vulpera for now.
Anyway, don’t know if any of this helps.
Honestly, Blizz needs to change it so that unlocking the current Pathfinder also unlocks all past flying. Getting a Pathfinder during its expansion should be a Feat of Strength when the next expac comes out.
PF made me quit WoW.
Wish they would just go back to the way it was.
Reach a certain level, hit the trainer.
Blizz used to be able to design xpacs around flying. Guess all the good people left or are on OW2 or D4.
I think I do? Rather than pushing forward on this Character, (with an I lvl of 360) I have decided to level other characters. I mentioned in another post that I have decided how I am going to play going forward.
I jumped on board really late in the game, (like 3 months ago) There is absolutely no way I can catch up. SO I just figured I would prepare all my characters to be ready for Shadowlands so I am equal footing as everyone again.
So I am going to get all my class mounts, I am going to try and level all my professions and while playing hopefully get flying for BFA. I have it for everywhere else. I plan on jumping into PVP again, I am leveling a new Hunter because I don’t have one on my connected servers. I would also like to unlock all the allied races, and create every class. I of course want to make some Gold, I would love 5 Million but that’s not going to happen.
I might work on Pet battles to help make gold. Farm mounts, and maybe find a T-Mog and try to obtain it if I run out of things to do. I doubt I will run out of things to do before they launch Shadowlands. As you can see I have quite the list.
I just got my Rogue to 110 the other day, working on my Dk now who is 104 I think?
I also have a Monk at 100 who needs leveling but I don’t know why, I just don’t like being a Pandaren. I am still trying to figure out if I want to play a human or Nelf or maybe a Draenei, I don’t have one on this server.( I am going to switch while the sale is still on.)
Maybe a different outlook is what you need, change you expectations. I hear people talking about the cloak and sanity amounts and I want to know what it’s all about but I am just not geared enough, and don’t feel like doing the dance required is worth it.
It was either quit or change my goals. Since my kids already bought me Shadowlands for Christmas and I have 3 months left on my sub, and there is literally nothing out there (IMO) that compares to WoW no matter how bad it is, that I want to play.
Which is something I am not sure people take note of, WoW is almost never compared to other games, it’s always pitted against itself (this expansion, was better than that expansion)
It’s the one game where if you choose to you can log in and do whatever you want, if you choose that frame of mind and don’t let dailies lead you around by the nose. I say the %$#$%$ with dailies on a daily basis I will do them if I want to do them.
So as long as you do not become a slave to the game I think the game is much more fun.
Now maybe that’s an idea that Blizzard should try to put into their expansions going forward, how do we make it so our customers want to play the game instead of feeling forced to play the game. I will admit that would very hard to do, because grinding is at the heart of most MMO’s especially WoW.
Maybe they can find a way to lessen it? That’s why I am not in a guild at the moment, I don’t want the obligations. (I am in 2 guilds but both are owned by me and only my alts are in them.)
Anyways I apologize for small novel, I did not think I had that much input with regards to your issue with flying. I hope maybe this helps you to keep playing the game but on your terms.
I’m not in the same boat, but I can totally understand why you would feel this way. Now would be a good time to try out other games and see if there is anything better. If anything, seeing how much worse all other games are might get you back into WoW.
Sorta. I only just earned BFA pathfinder… but I skipped the WoD and Legion expansions, returning in BFA, so now I’m really deep in the pathfinder slog with another 2 to earn back to back. Sooooo much hate for this system.
That’s the thing, while I take sub breaks from wow I DO play other games. I’ve been playing FFXIV and BDO, which I enjoy both very much. But I always get the itch to come back to wow after a while, then when I do come back I feel daunted by everything I feel like I have to do in order to get caught up.
It’s a double edged sword, because that’s exactly what keeps pulling you back in.
I dunno what is is about FFXIV leveling, but I’ve never managed to get a single character in that mmo to max level. It literally bores me to tears to level in that game.
Leveling is admittedly awful in FFXIV, but I enjoy the complex crafting system and end game. They still use tomestones (badges) to acquire gear, something I wish wow would go back to.
I didn’t bother with pathfinder given that I got flying in legion (mostly for that class mount), now I dont even go to the legion zones anymore and I know I wont be coming back to kultiras once shadowlands comes out. So yeah pathfinder is not worth it.
This echo’s what my roommate has told me. I feel like if they sat down and really examined and improved their leveling, that mmo would do a LOT better.
