I still don't have BFA flying

This current dev team is too focused on instanced content (eg island expeditions and warfronts) but fail to realize that most players were content and happy doing non instanced content at max level for a long time.

Blizz doesn’t understand why players would like to have flying to be able to level alts, for herbalism/mining, or just to go farm some gold in the new zones.

What has happened is a cascading effect with their shenanigans with PF.

Players must now decided to hold off leveling alts till flying is available. Players must decide if herbalism/mining is worth having as professions while stuck on the ground. Players have to decide if doing older content is more gold per hour now than trying to farm gold in the new content while stuck on the ground.

Basically what used to be fun and productive MMORPG progression for professions, gold making or just doing endgame content has a big sticker shock attached to it because flying is held hostage.

Blizz took what was very natural and organic game play at max level for many players and turned it into harsh opportunity costs. Now, most WoW players are refugees or have been turned into cyclical players because of PF. Where before these players consistently subbed to the game regardless of content droughts and regardless of raid content.

For me I didn’t even touch the first half of Cata all that much. But I stayed subbed throughout Cata’s drought. Stayed subbed throughout WotLk drought and the same with MoP.

Flying, professions, gold making, PVP, etc were my motivating factors. But now Blizz has tainted the entire progression of WoW by throttling flying.

Flying is that integral to WoW.

If flying wasn’t integral to WoW then gimmicks like flight whistles and extra portals would not exist.

Time to throw in the towel Blizz and admit that flying is integral to the game design. Primary reason is because of the large worlds you have created and keep adding. And the other reason is because of the outdated flying taxi system that hasn’t been significantly improved upon. And a final reason is that Blizz designs with instanced content first.

You can also use the pearls for some cool toys and eventually a mount.

I found this to be the first expansion I juggled mains. Tried warrior, then rogue, then hunter then settled on mage because I hated what gcd on everything ruined how melee classes felt.

I still got the pathfinder, but I hated following through with it on the class I started it on.

Thankfully, essences made me stop changing classes even though I want to because I’m not regrinding this hot garbage.

With the changes they might remove old pathfinder reqs. Keyword might. Time will tell.

I didn’t start working on it until a few weeks ago and I’ve been subbed and playing the whole xpac. :upside_down_face: It hasn’t been that bad, especially since discovering that I oftentimes have time to play, at work, and that’s perfect for dailies and other mindless grinding. All I have left are the two Pt. 2 reps. Arguably, this is the worst part, because I do not particularly like either of the two zones.

9k rep is literally 10 mins per day in rustbolt doing the primary daily which gives you ~900 rep. You don’t even need to do the blue dailies.

Introduce me to your math teacher. primary daily indicates 1 quest, ~900 rep is approximately 100 less than 1000. at a rate of 1 minute per quest, this singular quest if repeatable on a single day (10 times repeat on day x) then I’d say no problem. But, since the number 9000 is on the line…I’ll let you finish the question.

Lol, you have no actual argument so you just say “anyone i disagree with is obviously paid by blizzard, their opinion is fake”

Why do you need flying while unsubbed?

It depends on how they approach the level squish because when will ground mounts be unlocked or heirlooms? Lots of unknowns right now.

All the same reasons here. I haven’t had flying since they started with Pathfinder in WOD was it? IMO only good for mining/420 profession.

I’m in the exact same situation OP… I never unsubbed but I just couldn’t choose a main long enough to reach PF2. Its super annoying and I’ve accepted that I prob will never get it this expansion. I can’t bring myself to even step foot in Nazjatar, I think it sucks… The good news is I’ve stuck with this Mage longer than any main so far, and this will likely stay my main through Shadowlands. Hopefully I’ll fly again next expac…

I’m not sure how your brain is getting from A to B, most people would understand what I wrote. The primary quest in Rustbolt will take you around 10 mins, maybe a little more if it is the contribution one.

So for 10 MINUTES EACH DAY FOR 10 DAYS you get 900 x 10 = 9,000 rep. This is without doing any of the additional blue exclamation dailies.

I am sorry OP you havnt found the right motivation for BFA pathfinder. Quite frankly I do not blame you. Here we are @ the end of this so called BFA expac 8.3 and we are twice as much grinding for essences and cloak that is tied to the Heart of Azeroth very unpopular game system this expac. it has made me be burnt out.

I have to step back and @ first I thought I would grind all do all on all of my alts. Then I said ok just on my main for both factions. I am at this point not even feeling it. So, I decided to just get the cloak and farm rares for the mounts. Thats what I am doing. If I do anything else I will be too burnt out from grinding. This is what a flawed game system does. I cant wait for the day to take off the cloak and HoA. IT will be a glorious day. So in meantime im finishing my mechagon rep to exalted and leveling my one Vulpera and running old dungeons, raids for xmog and mounts so I can keep my sanity.

im in the same boat but not because i dont have flying as i could of had it by now. to me the game is just boring imo. im leveling new toons and bored to death doing the same ole dungeons OR the same ole quests that i’ve done over the many years of playing this game.

tried out new classes/specs somewhat okay but still boring long term. so far i’ve managed to only level up to lvl 24 max in the past i think 4 months since i got back. swapped from horde to alliance see if anything changed and again somewhat an alright thing things look newer then that are for me since i haven’t played alli in a long time.

the game is just to me REALLY stale. a lot of the stuff i know are at end game but getting there when it’s already boring at low levels is rough. on my horde mage which is this one i should do the rep but idc i mean i always eventually get flying even if it’s late i grind the rep early on though but never finish it off until the end of the expac. with this mage it is boring i get killed in wpvp by people that drop on me from flying lol.

i tried to get into 8.3 content tbh well before that actually but the whole nazjatar stuff bored the hell out of me. did a few quests got lost then quit. Now im just doing the entire opposite on my new main which ironically is the same class as my old main which is mage but im leveling from scratch on a new faction and new server and will fill my time sink with just getting into 8.3 slowly once i get there. gonna actually try and get the AOTC mount if i can gear wise if not no big deal don’t care for that one anyways.

In the past there has been groups to help people get AOTC mounts free. I would be on look out for it. Stay tuned to the forums cause there will be threads as well for it. good luck mate keep your chin up.

How my brain went from A to B:
Quote 1 suggests one can acquire 9k per day, doing a single 10 minute 900 value reputation reward quest. Nowhere in the original quote does it say

Also, 9k reputation isn’t exactly sufficient enough to acquire revered reputation for an entire faction to permit one to unlock Pathfinder 2.

It is. I’m never going to bother with Draenor. What a nightmare Pathfinder for that expansion. Legion isn’t terrible, but time consuming as well.

I finished Draenor PF on my goblin. Wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t impossible either. Most of it was playing the waiting game. “One 1500r quest per week” waiting. The other thing that almost prevented it was Justice for Thrall bugging out.

It’s sooo much easier to get flying in FF14. Do Main Story Quests and unlock Aether Currents within the zones required. Pathfinder is too grueling. No, it’s not the amount of work, it’s just, it comes in way too late into the expansion and it makes zero sense RPG wise to have to build reputation to fly.
