The trope of love interest actually being royalty/magic/ethereal being/special in some way relative to the plot is pretty common
I would absolutely -love- to watch that dumpster fire burn itself!
Well look at what they did to Alleria.
Do we really want all of the female characters on team blue to be turned into angsty adolescent idiots that have to be force fed token successes like her?
They have to make Xal’atath believable somehow and so far that has been done by making everyone who was ever great into an idiot.
I guess if he were to marry Wration then she could be a concubine
Oh that’s a nice strawman.
lmao just say the quiet parts out loud and get it over with
In high medieval times all that really mattered was your name though.
Being a lothar would be a huge deal.
Yea you’ve got a good point there xD.
Im also not a fan of making alleria kind of dumb.
Batman: is sad and violently attacks people.
Anduin: is sad and is trying to grow past it like a normal, healthy person.
Blood for the blood god?
Skulls for the skull throne?
There is no quiet parts. I specifically just called her a mary sue and have been adamant on it.
Yes, marry this handicapped woman who you just met underground who happens to share the Lothar name too despite you, Anduin, having been the last until you met her. Twitter demands it!
He is a fictional character, he has no life to live.
Thats what would likely have happened in RL.
She has the name, nothing else really matters.
Everyone in the story other than Faerin is either:
- Dumb.
- Whining.
- Whining but also dumb.
I’m actually surprised that she’s come out as the best character in TWW to me.
We should hope they don’t butcher more great names to make Xal’atath a thing.
Where do the Kobalds fit in tho
Irl, she would have been human like him, his same skin color, and part of royalty. Instead she says “I’m Lothar so I guess Im royalty” and is also an elf cause why not. And wears a shield on a nub of an arm that is as impractical as it gets. This far past RL standards.
I guess we’re ignoring the part where she helped him find his faith again? And self confidence? When he was at his lowest?
These are things that endear people to one another, generally speaking. It is the oldest damned story in the book.
Well yea… its a fantasy setting rofl.
She is also half elf and half human.
Her family name has played a more important role in human history than half of stromwinds nobles. Not really seeing an issue.
The name alone would galvanize much of the human population.
The writers wrote that to continue to emasculate him and showcase that this handicapped woman is better than him. We can argue on the agenda of why they wrote that, but you have to agree that she has done all the light stuff that Anduin should be doing. This is the same guy who literally ress’d an entire army by himself, and now he somehow has to have some nobody tell him how to use it again?
NOPE.
