God damn, I stopped playing for years. Had a family, got a new job, got promoted, moved and came back to play an old beloved game after so many years and Bepples is STILL crying about SV hunters.

As someone who mained the orignal SV way back in the day i loved it and was kinda crushed when it changed.
However given how stale and boring i find BM and MM to be i finally today took the plunge.
I’m re-gearing for SV and OMG it is such a fun spec so much going on and it just feels much more fun than the other 2 specs currently.
I’m just hoping blizz doesn’t nerf it and actually makes it even better than currently.
Although i like the movement aspect of BM its rotation and skills are just boring SV has far more flavor too it and sure it needs some work but i think i found my new main spec.

This stuck out to me too much to let this part slide. Monk was THE melee healer from when it launched in MoP and throughout WoD. The only time people used it primarily as a ranged healer was in Legion and thats only because they outright removed all of it’s fistweaving. In BfA onwards you’ve needed to melee to maximize your performance again.
Something to be gleamed here from a previous die-hard RSV fan finally trying MSV and having a fantastic time.

Most of us still salty about losing RSV have actually tried MSV. I actually kind of liked the Legion variant of it the most. It wasn’t polished in the slightest (feels even worse now IMO), but it had a certain visceral feel to it. I haven’t had fun with it since completing the original Mage Tower with it when I did all 36/36 specs. Even in BFA it felt “ok” but now it just feels incredibly bland to me.
I’ve even tried the “RSV-Lite” build you can do now with MM and while reminiscent of it, it just doesn’t scratch that itch. Honestly I’m personally waiting for a full hunter rework before I attempt to main it again for the first time since the end of WoD. The Mage and Paladin reworks give me hope at least, as I’ve been having a BLAST with them.

I like this perspective. It’s fair and caters to both the players now and those who lost their RSV play-style. I do agree, hunter as a whole needs an immense amount of work atm, for all three specs and the base tree. Hopefully we can see some significant change in the future to make both ranged and melee variants of hunter actually rewarding to play.

Not for me, I play a hunter because I prefer ranged DPS. No interest in trying MSV.

It’s just a spec honeymoon phase. He’s done literally 4 dungeons with it.
You’ve done no raiding or mythics, how is that different?

P.S. Why have you acted like you didn’t know SV used to be ranged this entire thread and tried to play innocent when you have gloated about it in the past?
Looks like you also knew about my past PvE experience from that same thread.
So it seems either you have a short memory or you’re assuming other people have a short memory.
And thats perfectly fine if players enjoy BM or MM in its current state you play what you Enjoy.I simply dont enjoy either spec any longer.

Everyone plays specs and classes for different reasons if you enjoy your spec or class as is great,doesn’t mean other players will.I find SV fun and engaging and it has far more flavor to it with skills than the other 2 specs.
A game is played for fun if you dont enjoy a spec you dont play it unless pushing high content simply for the Damage it provides.

Try not to take what Bepples says seriously, he’s been nursing the world’s most bitter grudge for going on 8 years now about RSV. He can’t really comprehend people enjoying things he doesn’t personally enjoy and will find the world’s most specific and arbitrary metric to try and convince you or others you’re having fun the “wrong” way

I’m not against people liking the spec. I’m just saying you’ve played it for all of a couple hours according to raider IO. I’ve met plenty of people who start off by fawning over the spec only to shy off to something else once the novelty wears off.
Plus, ask yourself if your enjoyment is because it’s melee or despite it being melee.
Sure but SV currently does the most DPS so people chasing only DPS would be playing SV.
