I only play SOD and I won’t be starting fresh

This is so spot on. Dev’s reading the forums to get doomers constructive feedback whilst going back to work mustering up motivation to create new content. gl

There’s a reason why they stopped communicating as much on the forums and instead chose to go to Twitter. Its pretty funny, with how much of a toxic reputation twitter has as a whole, you know the forums are really bad if they choose to communicate over there versus here.

I feel exactly the same way

How can you go from SoD class and itemization redesigns to the classic where many class/specs are completely non viable and many teir piece set bonuses were just absolute trash?

My plan is to level a class to max. Then put it on ice for all of classic and only to come back for tbc

It’s easy to go back to fresh when the pvp in sod is this embarrassing

Well it’s a season… it was always going to come to an end. Never had an answer that I’m aware of as to what would happen to us at the end of the season. So from the start I guess I just always viewed this as a temp thing for a year or so.

If you can still login and have fun, that is awesome. Hopefully they do something interesting at the end of the season like make SOD a type of Era server.

PvP is not fun at all and is completely unbalanced, it needs a rework.

SoD was a complete and total failure in my opinion. The fact they just threw up their hands with no attempt at balancing classes for PvP speaks to their ineptitude.

I’ve been enjoying Era since 2019 because it actually respects your time and doesn’t keep moving the goal posts. I’ve taken year long breaks on Era and am still able to return at any time and my progress still matters.

For this reason I’m also not very interested in Fresh either because I already have that experience in Era.

I am like you but I recognize sod is not permanent. Its a test for classic plus. If it fails then im done, if it works we get classic plus

It is kind of permanent, they said they will not delete and will move us to our own place if they ever end it, but they did post this message:

‘ We have no plans to delete Season of Discovery characters or to shut down the SoD realms. We plan to continue supporting them, and we’re hard at work on everything else that’s coming … Soon™

Aggrend also tweeted that they have a lot of stuff coming to SOD, and the future was bright.

SoD really has ruined me for anything else. I can’t think of what I’d want to play in Classic fresh. I loved playing my paladin in SoD and actually being able to fulfil my class fantasy as a healer/warrior. It’s been the most fun I’ve had in WOW probably in all my decades of playing. I really don’t want it to end.

I tried Cata for a few min last night and remembered why I hated it so much. Horrible brainless and spammy rotations with zero challenge or thought. That’s what made it the worst expansion. I was kinda excited for MoP since I remember classes and rotations being a lot of fun then, but I just don’t feel like I can make it through Cata.

I was a tourney finalist and I say it’s bad. It’s not just “bad players”. Like it actually, legitimately feels bad

I watched the tourney. I like the way pvp feels compared to classic for just about every class except mage

They are two different games now.

Classic was very role based. SOD is not so much and is more individual based. You just have dps and heal roles. The dampening isn’t very liked by the classic base as a whole, even though some may like it as an individual.

We just have to accept they are 2 vastly different types of pvp. And it is rare that a person thinks both are “very good”

Literally the only thing they had to do right now for sod was make pvp gearing on PAR with pve including weapons and sod would go on.

Its going to die now with fresh coming out you’re losing 99% of your pvp base who also raid.

Alt friendly… i guess more than classic… no where close to retail though

I feel the same way. I don’t really see the appeal of vanilla. I tried it when it came around the first time and it was pretty boring. Not to mention there is no class balance whatsoever.

Only certain specs even work in most places. If you want to play a DPS that has mana and no easy way to get it back then forget about it. Why is that fun again?

Yeah let’s just only have rogues and warriors and maybe a mage or two and maybe one warlock. Oh also we need 40 people.

There just isn’t any variety. It’s been done twice over now and history is gonna repeat itself a third time. Explain to me why this is fun. RPG elements my azz.

Don’t forget to mention debuff slots. Like really? You have like what? 12 of them to figure out between 40 people? What a horrid design flaw.

If anyone reading this loves vanilla then go enjoy that version of the game, because that isn’t me and I’m glad to see I’m not alone in feeling this way. I’ll stay here and do something I actually find fun.
