They’re really not. There’s more to them than that. There has been more to them than that since vanilla you absolute ignoramus.
In-game numbers of npc’s seen, do not necessarilly represent the canon number and the Ogres are an iconic Horde race. That is the logic they run off of.
One neutral npc, three friendly ones. Blizz has explicitely stated at a Blizzcon QnA that there are multiple groups of Naga with their own motivations. In cata it is stated that at one point a group of Naga were friendly until recently.
Many Horde Blood elves actually used to fight alongside Naga, and share a common heritage.
You can’t end jack logically, because you are the one ignoring the mounting evidence because of an arbitrary criteria like “nO mOnStEr RaCeS!” which is ridiculous because the Horde used to be referred to by Jeff Kaplan as a faction of monster races, AND the fact that these specific races have been requested since the very beginning of WoW, or in the case of the Naga, even before that.
So are you. And pretentious on top of that.
This isn’t a necro.
Because they’re not actual Blood Elf players.
Giving the customers what they want (within reason) comes first. Creative freedom can happen after that.
Zandalari actually had been requested for a while, especially since MoP. Vulpera being added, had quite a few critics, albeit still significantly outnumbered by supporters. Especially based on which faction they were added to.
Its cause they are, but a very vocal amount of ppl who play this game and complain on the forums only care about surface level.
Like I actually like the mecha gnomes due to their storyline in bfa and their personalities but I understand the criticisms that their customizations dont go nearly far enough.
I don’t mind that meme. Vrykul represent savage humans, a theme you don’t expect from the Alliance generally, and thus subverts the meme a bit. Plus they COULD be given titan-forged skins to help set them apart more from other human races.
Ah christ, good luck with that one. Have we even ever met a single friendly gnoll?
The amount if rigging and modelling work they’d require… makes the Ogres, Naga and even Sethrakk seem easy by comparison. Would be a more interesting option than Earthen though. That’s for sure.
You’re just upset as always, when nothing goes your way. Do whatever you need to say and get it out of your system. Your constant coming back for a rematch reminds me more of a sport show than actually having a discussion with someone.
Vrykul would be the most savage human-like race for the Alliance to get to date, and could get titan-forged, and even golden Valarjar skins to further differentiate them. Fact is humans ARE the most iconic, and important race of the Alliance.
The fact a human-like dwarf is arguing this is also not lost on me.
I figured the Vrykul mount would be mammoths or massive oxen.
Also, don’t try to sneak Worgen in with humans. Just because they canonically are originally human, doesn’t change that many of them embrace their bestial form and were added for that reason. So you have Draenei, Nelves, wolf-men, blueberry elves, and a few human races. You could get an exclusive race with Titan forged options too that scratches the viking itch many have.
I can relate a lot. I am someone who plays Blood Elf for reasons different from most, and hate that most of the Horde players are not only Blood Elves, but are playing blood elves for reasons that harm the Horde identity. Reasons that Blizzard has been catering to for far too long, and if they DIDN’T cater to it, I believe would reduce the population a bit.
But I believe the hunched posture, the option for metal skin, and a savage viking aesthetic and culture of the Vrykul, would be enough of a change from your typical humanoid trope that it provides much needed diversity despite some superficial human-like traits the Vrykul have. Besides, Vrykul being added doesn’t stop less humanoid races from being added, at all.
In fact, despite my objections on the grounds of lore integrity and race fantasy, if Blizzard gave the Alliance Naga, I’d switch in a heart beat. A monstrous looking race that I am fascinated by, providing more variety to the options the Alliance has. However, I would prefer them on the Horde, as I’d prefer to stay Horde, and would definitely feel satisfaction in being able to play a race I love without contributing to the over-saturation of elves on the Horde. Specifically an over-saturation of elves that care more about maintaining a not even remotely Horde-like aesthetic or edge.
For sure. Hell, I’d be over-joyed if they had announced playable Nerubians, even if they are bipedal.
I also believe there’d be quite a few cheering for playable Naga for Warthin, but I am almost definitely biased.
