I lost 400k gold worth of items and apparently I cannot restore it...im beyond lost as what i should do

Have been engineering and working towards building the crowd pummeler mount, logged in to find out, all 50 of my cataclysmic converters are gone without a trace, im not sure what to do as the restore page says their gone forever…this was a massive gold sink just to have vanish

Try a full UI reset – that fixes this issue for me, whenever I’ve encountered it.

Delete: Cache folder
Temporarily move (or rename) WTF, Interface

That sounds like a display error then, since I can see it.

I’d first try a simple relog

If that doesn’t help, a proper reset UI may be in order.

I would think it would at least show up in recipes at least if it was only a display issue

This might be related to a bug a lot of us are seeing since this last patch went live. Randomly some crafting reagents appear to disappear from your bags. Just two days ago I lost over 100 gemdust on my JC. Today it came back. Resetting the UI doesn’t fix it, it just randomly seems to fix itself. I regularly lose items on all my toons and get them back eventually each week now. The game thinks they aren’t there as well as any pattern that requires those items believes you no longer have them in the crafting UI. The bug was reported, but hard to say if QA has seen it yet since the issue has been on going for over a month now.

Hopefully they show up on reset for you. Sometimes when the items come back if another item is in that bag slot, it will shift things around, so make sure to scan different parts of your bag from time to time incase they show up somewhere you don’t normally put them.

This happened to me about a week ago. My enchanter was suddenly missing 200 plus Gleaming shards. I scoured all my Alts and convinced myself I did something stupid and sold them when emptying bags.

2 Days later I logged back in and they were back in my bags, exactly where they should have been.

Hopefully it sorts itself out. I think it was 1-2 daily resets before I saw them again. Fingered crossed for you

VERY glad to hear that it was resolved and they are showing for you again. Reset often fixes those display glitches but the anxiety waiting for it to resolve is real!
