So, I was playing with my engineer when I noticed some crafted 3 stacks of materials had disappeared from her reagent bag. At first I thought it could be due to NPC work orders I had done earlier, maybe I had spent the materials without noticing, but something felt off.
I checked several other characters and they all seemed ok. But then I logged on my jewelcrafter and, again, 3 stacks of crafting materials (topaz, onyx and grinded gems) had disappeared completely as well. I did some NPC working orders with that character earlier, and it was all I had done all day, and for sure there was no way I’d have spent all those materials (especially the topazes, which I had dozens of).
Something is buggy in-game, but I can’t find what’s causing it, and I am now afraid of logging on other characters and finding costly materials missing.
Edit: I relogged on the jewelcrafter now and the missing stacks have returned. Then I relogged the engineer and the itens have also returned. Strange, I had tried to relog earlier without success, but now it worked.

I just logged in about 20 min ago to find i was missing 50x Cataclysmic Converters
My jewelcrafter has again lost several stacks from his reagent bag. One of those stacks was of 200+ topazes. I tried logging out and returning, and the stacks didn’t return. I waited a few hours and logged again, and still nothing. Let’s see if they will reappear tomorrow, but this is at least annoying, and very expensive if the material do not return.
(I also suspect my blacksmith has lost a stack from his bag, but I’m not sure since it was a very small stack and I may have spent it in NPC working orders without noticing).
I have regularly found items missing only from my reagent bag. This usually happens to me about once a week. I keep my bags very organized with no empty slot so I know when it happens. The full stack or 2 will be completely missing and the slot in the bag can be filled with another item. The items are returned if I keep the slot empty within a day or 2 but once took 3 days. This week it happened to 3 of my characters and that is worse than normal (2 of them have been restored through time.) I originally thought that it was a specific bag slot or item and move things around. I have noticed that after the daily reset that the items are most likely to return. I wonder if the items will be completely lost if I logged off with another items in the slot that had the temporarily missing items when item will phase back into my bags. It is very scary since I have some large stacks of expensive items that can go missing and inconvenient when I need to craft with those items.

they did reappear after the weekly reset, but its so weird
I don’t know if this covers 100% of the times it happens, but for me it happens a lot more often on materials that I get extra of via resourcefulness procs while doing patron orders, but only after I log out and then back in (they are there till logout and gone when I log back in). Like on my blacksmith I just lost my stack of the crystal stuff you get from mining nodes (had 100+), Noticed because the slot in my bag was empty for them randomly. This has been happening for me a lot more since the 11.0.5 patch hit. I do all professions across my alts, so I run into it a lot.
I have been suspicious that some crafting items have disappeared during this xpac. even some old dreanor fish.
When an addon like Armory says i have item X on an alt and i can’t find it i should have been making more bug reports.
I don’t know how much redundancy systems and storage have been cut since the buyout. That vast amount of cash borrowed to make the blizzard purchase has to come from somewhere.
The missing items returned, for now. What a weird bug.
and they’re gone again, along with my 80x blinker fluid, the only explanation is it has something to do when you only list part of a stack on the auction house
Aaaand now it’s my leather work that suddenly lost items. This one hurts a bit more than the others because it’s an alt I’m actually invested into the professions.
I know they’ll return eventually (hopefully), but it’s annoying as hell.
Edit: the materials returned a few hours later.
Yep, just had about 80+ R2 core alloy disappear on me, not crazy concerned since its only like 5k for all that but it’s still incredibly inconvenient and hopefully it hasn’t happened with more valueable mats and I just hadn’t noticed.
It will reappear eventually, after logging out a few times. It’s still pretty annoying, thought.
Update.
I just did some crafting orders, and I had 3/4 stack of Gloom Chitin, 52 Gloom-fathom Hide and 1/2 stack of Storm-charged Leather disappear out of my bags making me not able to do the next craft I planned as now I have no Gloom-fathom Hide which is pretty expensive on my server.
It’s been a while this hasn’t affected me, I thought it had been fixed.
Try shuffling things in your bag and then logging out/back in. Sometimes logging on other characters and returning also works.

I logged off and on and swapped characters for a while. Stayed off the character for 5 hours and the missing items returned when I just checked. Not sure when they actually returned but it happened while I was offline on that particular character. I’m glad they are back, and I was able to find this thread then making a new post.

For anyone coming into this thread in the future, some advice:
- The items do not disappear, it’s an UI error that fails to display them. Eventually they return.
- There are several things you can try to force the items to appear, but nothing works all the time, so try more than one:
– Logging out and back in
– Shuffling items to the empty spot where the missing stacks should be, then logging out and back in
– Logging on different characters
- If nothing of the above works, try to wait some time before logging on the character again. Items usually return after a few hours
- However, sometimes it can take longer for the items to return. There have been cases that they reappeared after the weekly reset or after a server restart.
- In my case, it happened on three different characters, but only those characters. It happened more than once for each of them, and was particularly frequent for one of them (my leatherworker). Other characters in my account never experienced it.
This bug started happening very suddenly one day then stopped just as suddenly. I have no idea of what causes it, and I thought it was fixed since it hasn’t happened for the last 2 months or so.
