I quit in WoD (returned for Legion). HATE WoD so much, I can’t stand to go back and do anything there. So no flying for me. The little time I have is to play BfA, not grind rep in an expansion that made me leave.
WOD, Legion Pathfinder is worth it only if you are planning on leveling many alts. Otherwise, it’s not really needed.
They are easy though if you are doing it at LvL 120. The most difficult part of pathfinding achievement was mobs keep on dazing me and dismounting and constantly fighting my way from one point of the map to the next one. You won’t have that at LvL 120. Everything will be 1 shot for you. Even the elites will be so easy. I just finished WOD pathfinder achievement like 2 weeks ago. WOD Loremaster achievement was done in 1 day, map exploration and 100 x treasures were easy too. By the time I did my WOD Loremaster, I only had some parts of the map unexplored so I just googled the part of the map, found the exact location, so easy. I bought the treasure map from the NPC in Ashran and it showed all the treasures in WOD except Tannan Jungle. So, basically everything was done in 1 day but the 3 x Tanaan rep, which I had choice but to do the dailies for the next 2 weeks or so. I just did the dailies there everyday. It was easy enough.
I did my Legion pathfinder when I was level 110. and yeah it was pretty hard as 110, but for 120, you will just blaze through the zone.
So do it one bit at a time. Just doing the dailies will get it done in two weeks, and it’s trivial at 120.
Funny you should say that…
i just finished Legion pathfinding about maybe a month ago? i cant remember exactly, but i did it while BFA was well under way. it wasn’t that much of an issue, i also finished Nightfallen and Highmountain reps a few weeks ago too, still working on Insurrection
i just did it on times where i didnt really feel like doing much else. i didn’t find it to be overly cumbersome or tedious, maybe a little bit, but not enough to make me upset or anything, it just was there, i wanted it, so i did it. havent gone back to Draenor yet, but i suppose i will get around to it eventually.
On the contrary, if you want old mogs and mounts then that should be motivation to grind out pathfinder. Especially, since you will get mounts along the way from grinding the rep anyways. Think long term not short term.
So you want Draenor and Legion rewards, but you can’t be bothered to travel in either expansion nor can you be botbered to improve your situation with a little bit of old fashioned work. Gotcha.
then u are just not going to fly there then
Fiction. Because you have to play specific old content to get flight.
Im not sure why flying isn’t given out for free after the xpac
so new players can play then all of a sudden cant.
that must be really confusing.
With Heirlooms and Exp scaling, leveling is very fast now though.
Flying makes questing easier but it’s easy enough even with the ground mount. It’s like finish 1 x zone + some dungeons = time to move to the next expansion pretty much.
Fighting WoD and Legion mobs at 120 is about as hard as stepping on a bug, if they even aggro you in the first place. It doesn’t take 30 minutes to get anywhere, either.
I’m not the biggest fan of Pathfinder, but trivial mobs and maybe 5 minutes of ground-runnin’ is not the problem with it, eesh……
The strength of mobs isn’t the main factor. Being 90 or 120 doesn’t make reputation go faster.
cough lazy cough
Just buy the medallions
At 9000g per medallion, sure thing.
I’m okay with the idea of having a gate to flying that requires completing certain content. However, I do not like its implementation. The big factor here is the rep grinds -reputation, as we know it, should not exist in the game. Locking important or extremely useful things behind arbitrary reputations just creates uninteresting busy work. In BfA, flight could be locked behind completion of every new zone’s story quest chains and maybe the earlier parts of the war campaign. Like Pathfinder Part 1 without the reputation. Then BAM, off to flying.
As for past expansions, either the aforementioned or just throw in a small gold fee after the first major patch of the next expansion. (Ex. Legion flight is 100g at level 108-110 after 8.1 dropped in BfA.) Perhaps Pathfinder unlocks flight at any level for any character on account for X content, but without the achievement, flight is a per-character basis for gold at max level for that content or close to it (ie 108 of Legion’s 110).
More importantly, the problem with flight in general is that it doesn’t really add anything interesting to the content. Merely convenience. I would like to see areas that utilize flight in interesting ways and allow for new and unique experiences, which flight would be taken in as a key component for the level design. Conversely, why being earthbound in WoW sucks, is less about the lack of convenience, but rather is more because the geography in WoW sucks. Work on that. Make the landscape of WoW interesting so we don’t want to just circumvent it by flying over and/or make areas solely accessible by flight, feel like flying is a crucial ability incorporated into the content, beyond merely being the gate to get there in the first place.
She was also the one that admit to rage quit in mythic plus
Being 120 absolutely makes the rep faster, all you have to do is sneeze on as many quest mobs as you can gather and they’re dead…
Not to mention if you gather a slew of them and drop the banner down that increases gold and rep increased by X % (I forgot the exact number) and that also just helps sky rocket it
