D… do I have to? I popped by the day before yesterday, just to see what the place has been up to since the forum change. I went through the whole thread about the OK sign. It was so bad… but I couldn’t look away.
I feel I don’t take the time often enough to say how much I love the SF.
He noticed that he lost to people who actually care about the story, so he goes to the home of WoW forum trolls to try and say “See, all these people agree with me”.
Tyrande absolutely should be the main Alliance NPC for the Azshara portion of the content, maybe with back up of Alleria. It should focus on her Tyrande though as she is by far the most relevant to the content.
On Horde it should probably be Thalyssra.
When the actual void lords/old gods start popping up Alleria will get her chance to become relevant. Even then don’t be surprised if she goes all Sylvanas 2.0 after being corrupted. Not saying it will happen, but the pieces are there.
As much crap as I give the Nightborne, it’s at times like this I wish we hadn’t killed Elisande. I feel like she could have been reasoned with, eventually. But she’s the one that actually defied Azshara. In the eleventh hour, and for selfish reasons, but she still did it. It’d be nice to see the culmination of that.
Actually having rewatched the preview I think Tyrande might not turn up, at least not at the start. It sounds like we end up in Nazjatar by accident effectively falling into a whole in the sea and getting ambushed. It sounds like a situation far closer to Vashjir, were we are pretty much attacked and shipwrecked, than us actually going after the Naga.
The names mentioned so far are Lor’themar, Nathanos for the Horde and Jaina for the Alliance. I assume it won’t only be Jaina but it seems unlikely for Tyrande to be there if she is hunting orcs in Ashenvale and we weren’t intentionally going after Azshara.
It actually seems more likely that much of the main focus will be on the new allies. Honestly I am hoping they are interesting. A bunch of former Gilblin, Makura and Sea Giant slaves don’t exactly intrigue me. They are hardly the three most interesting groups to be befriending.
There is potential. It is easy to forget that Lorthemar was Sylvanas’s second in command prior to the third war and he and Nathanos probably know each other from back then.
Yeah we wouldn’t want to hurt human feelings or wound their complex of “Human potential” or “Human superiority”… Which must be why they always have a host of Elves and other, better races to do their fighting for them. /Eyeroll
We’re we not told that around 8.2 would be the wrap up of the faction war? Anyway I see why Jaina would be there but to have no NE presence is such a massive waste. They better not blizz this up.
I totally get that but the question is why would Tyrande be on a boat in the middle of the ocean pursuing a boat with Lor’themar and Nathanos on it when she could be retaking Ashenvale. If we were intentionally going after the Naga I would agree but this is us getting jumped by the Naga. We get smashed by the naga opening up the ocean and having us fall down and smash against the sea floor.
You have more details on that because I haven’t watched the preview yet. That said some they may be the first to encounter the naga I doubt or would remain a secret for long that they are there. With Azshara rising I can imply assume that need back up. I can’t see Tyrande not wanting to freak with her once and for all.
Like I said I thought we were told that the wae was wrapping up and they said the NE story line would continue into 8.2. As for Ashenvale by that time I doubt it will be an issue as the Horde had troops deployed elsewhere and Darkshore for them all but lost.
They can all be there plus Tyrande. It would just be so weird to exclude the NE leader who succeeded Azshara…the one who always worries about becoming another Azshara. Tyrande absolutely should be involved in the resolution of Azshara’s story.
By then, Darkshore could be wrapped up as far as the story goes (the warfront is still available to play).
After seeing what horrible writing Blizzard unleashed upon us during that plot "Tyrande, I need you!", and with how little he actually did during the raid, I can seriously say that plot would have been better off without him.
Ok so I just watched that preview and first off Zin Azshari is or was beautiful. We know that Jaina, Nathanos, and Lor’themar get trapped there but I can’t see them not including the elves. It’s an ancient elven enemy in an ancient elven city.
Tyrande and Malfurion fought on that battle field and Tyrande is probably one of ther few people alive who’d been in the palace. Not including the elven leaders would be as dumb as them chaging the Battle of the Broken Shore where part of it was supposed to take us through an ancient elven ruin where you see Tyrande fighting. Come on blizz just get this right.
There was an interview where it was said they intend for the showdown with Azshara to be a continuation of the Night Elf story. I expect after Azshara openly declares herself, and makes her move, trapping Jaina, Lor’themar, and Nathatanos, the Elves will show up.
(Can I also just say, I’m not a fan of this format whereby we get fragments of information scattered through hundreds of interviews, compared to one big lore dump. After a while, I lose track of which snippet came from where.)
