It does raise an interesting point though - mythic plus already did this same sort of thing to raiding as OP is complaining that world content is doing. And raiding has survived just fine for 4 years.
The challenge of doing something difficult, with people you like or at least tolerate, competitive nature. Kind of hard to be competitive in heroic.

This is why I decided that IF I do ever come back to WoW again, Im not even bothering with worrying about my ilvl until the end of the expansion.
Doesnt work for raiders and PvPers, obviously, but for my game its fine.
Its all about the grind. Gear. Rep. Whatever.

I don’t know where you are getting that arguement from. Noone here stated they need heroic raid gear to do world quests. But does it matter why i need it? Did you ever think i may need it for a stronger character in pvp…?
Yes pvp the actual point to the game. Some people like myself feel pvp is endgame and not endlessly farming gear from raids i don’t want to do. Why force people to do raids when they do not want too?
The raid or die attitude has got to go. People don’t have time for it, it gets boring fighting artificial intelligence all the time, and it is no fun hanging with people that think it is the only route to go.
I don’t want to buy these peoples carries, I don’t feel spending excessive amounts of time doing raids to get the best gear remotely fun at all.
Do you raid to get the best gear all the time and to you that is endgame? Chasing a carrot that constantly evolves to more carrots is not endgame unless you just farm gear to farm more gear all the time. To me that is pointless. What you are suggesting to people is that raiding is the only thing to do at endgame and it should be strictly enforced as the ONLY place to get good gear.
Don’t get me wrong, raiding can be enjoyable… the first few times i do it, but don’t you get tired of it after 50-100 times? seriously.
Thank god they can see this and they are building the gearing steps accordingly. Nothing has really changed actually since legion. Invasions gave some pretty good gear and was better than alot of raid stuff. What about that?
This is not World of Raidcraft. There is other things to do. Just because a person wants to spend silly amounts of time doing raiding does not give them the right to drag down the rest of the playerbase and force them to do it as well. Misery loves company but cmon now.
I find it very strange that people think endgame is farming gear over and over.
FOR WHAT PURPOSE?.. So you can farm even more gear? omg stop.

Ever since Legion they have always upgraded WQ gear rewards. I rememeber broken isles and then broken shore and then argus and they kept going up in i level. now they are in the 180-190 range for 120, i guess thats normal antorus, and heroic tomb. the point of mythic raiding is for the achievements anyway. ahead of the curve so you can sport that around

mythic raiders is a small percent of the player base.for most people they can see most for the content in lfr or just watch a twitch streamer.
my point is its not worth is for most people to put up with the hoops to mythic raid.

If your goal is just to see the content and you don’t care about the other people you’re raiding with, then sure, just do LFR.
You don’t speak for everyone though. Other players may:
- Prefer more challenging content.
- Want to play with their friends.
- Want to flaunt their successes.
- Feel a mythic victory is more meaningful for their participation in the story.
- Want to try for a world first, or to be in the top 100.
If you don’t want to do mythic and just want to play in LFR, that’s totally fine. Go for it, it’s 100% your decision. If you don’t feel like there’s a point to doing mythic because LFR exists though, then it seems to me that you didn’t ever want to do mythic in the first place.

I apologize if I misunderstood your argument. Those are absolutely valid reasons for not wanting to mythic raid, and that’s completely fine. It sounded to me as though you were arguing that mythic shouldn’t exist though.
Nobody has to be a mythic raider. Nobody has to do Mythic+ dungeons, nobody has to PvP, nobody has to do anything in the game that they don’t want. That’s the great thing about a game this immense, there are a lot of options, and you can pick and choose what you want to participate in.

Lol I’ve never done a Mythic boss in my life, unless you count Heroic Siege of Orgrimmar before it officially turned into Mythic.
I’m just saying how others might feel because I’m looking at it from perspectives other than my own, my dude.

If they don’t want to raid, they don’t have to. Nobody has to do anything in the game they don’t want to do. I’m enjoying heroic raiding with my guild, and my guildies seem to enjoy it as well. I’m just offering different perspectives.

Their catch up mechanic has been obscenely early all expansion. Put it a few weeks before the new patch so people who are coming back can get gear for the next raid. Don’t drop it with a raid to invalidate the gear in the raid. Gear is a mess
