I have no reason to raid anymore

Agreed. I think their main problem at the moment is they want emissaries/world quests to “feel more exciting”, yet aren’t increasing or at least varying raiding rewards. Gear doesn’t have to be the only reward, but it still is.

I think there’s a miscommunication somewhere along here. I actually want solo players to have fun and enjoy themselves, and even be rewarded for the stuff they do in game.

But the hard work of raiding needs to have some reward. Historically, that was the best gear. It doesn’t have to continue to be the best gear. But raiding needs a meaningful reward or the content isn’t worth the time or effort. If it’s not worth my effort to complete the raids, then why is Blizzard dumping resources into developing raids? Why am I paying money for content that doesn’t provide rewards?

Blizzard needs to do something to address this. If it’s that they go back to historical norms, at least raids will be worth the time. If its that they come up with something new to reward raiding (which is probably better), that’s cool too.

I just want Blizzard to respect my time.

I mean they could have currencies and such to get gear, but that would mean that they’d have to steer away from their ‘everything is an RNG drop!’ shtick they started in legion and double downed in BfA. Another thing they could do is work on expanding professions or making interesting rep rewards like MoP had. They’re putting all their eggs in the M+ and raid basket with no real reward structure which is leading to apathy and burnout.

Granted what I’m asking for is either more dev time or better allocation of it spent, but it feels less like fan of games is designing it which was always what made Blizzard games so great.

No. They said the sweetspot was 30 which is why the jump between tiers is 30. Meanwhile blizzards left hand is giving everyone in the game 400 IL gear which makes the jump from Normal BoD to Normal AEP 15 IL because we have almost 3 months of 400 IL emissaries.

And here I am STILL going to replace gear from probably M SWB from the first boss of N AEP because it has better stats or something.

A few people would continue to raid for the achievement if there were no gear upgrades. But 99% of raiders at all difficulties would stop raiding if the only rewards was an achievement and bosses did not drop loot upgrades.

And even for the 1% who continued to raid, there would be no reason to ever kill a boss more than once. It would not be like today where you kill bosses repeatedly for loot.

Also Crucible of Storms is not a new tier. There are only 2 bosses who drop a combined total of something like 4 pieces of loot for each character.

The loot is good for most classes. But it’s still just 4 pieces. The vast majority of your gear must come from other sources, such as Battle of Darzalor.

Also, the ilevel cap was not raised from 425. So if you have any max titanforged loot, it’s probably not going to be replaced by Crucible of Storms loot even on mythic difficulty.

Also assuming your armor type gets 4. Cloth gets shafted on gloves since they are BASICALLY healer/arcane mage exclusive. Still got them on my warlock though >.>

The thing is, they’ve gotten lazy with WQ’s.

We had daily quests, which were a means to an end - a way to get reputation (Which could then give crafting recipes, gear, mounts, ect) You’d have a fair few to ebgin with, then a content patch would come which would give you a new area to quest in and get some more dailies to earn reputation for a new faction. (For example, MoP had a good handful of rep factions to start with (One that stupidly needed rep with a separate faction to unlock) and then we got a new faction with quests in 5.1 and then another faction with more in 5.2)

Raiding because of ilvl has never made sense to me. I raid for transmog and mounts. Stuff like that lasts forever, ilvl only lasts for whatever patch you’re in.

As long as there’s transmog I’m missing or there’s mounts to be obtained, I’ll be raiding week after week.

Especially since organized raiding pre-mythic is a straight up waste of time. Join a pug whenever you want and on whatever boss you want. No need to fight Grong every week if you dont want to or whatever.

I disagree.

I like WQs. Much better than the old daily quest system where there were maybe 6-8 daily quests and you did the same quests every day for an entire raid tier. Yuck!

WQ system is much better.

Only problem is WQs are easy to do. They should not give better base-quality loot (before warforge/titanforge) than normal mode or even LFR raiding.

So you are fine with getting better gear than 2199 rating PvP by killing boars? If the issue you are having is PvP rewards then that is the issue. You have to cap conquest 11(?)weeks in a row to get better gear than an emissary on tuesday.

You are right. All it takes it me individually entering the raid and not being bad to be a mythic raider. That’s it.

The roster boss is harder than the first 3 Mythic Bosses. Especially since Op is like a 70 pull boss.

This is the main problem I see with BfA… they’ve turned world quests into a catch up mechanic for mythic raiding (the only thing that drops better rewards than wqs). Since most people can’t hang with mythic raiding (either due to skill or ability to find 19 people), this means all raiding is essentially irrelevant now. Raiding was the only thing WoW did better than its competitors, and it was one of the only things encouraging people to interact.

This change shouldn’t go live until 8.2, or, really, ever.

What the heck do “hardcore” raiders have to do with anything?

Not to mention who designated you the mouth piece of hardcore raiders?
Posting on an alt, we can’t even be sure you, yourself, are representative of the group for which you claim to speak.

Don’t fret the small stuff…I have been playing since Vanilla and when this expac launched I have no desire to raid either. I’ve come to my gaming point where the boredom, drama and overall time consuming- Raids don’t do it for me anymore. I enjoy what I do whatever, that might be…There are more things to do overall than ever before with BFA … Some people don’t see things this way but believe me, anytime in-game is time well spent.

Catch up mechanics for what exactly? If you’re not doing harder content, there’s nothing to catch up to. Everything you just said makes no sense.

Stress? They add like 1 mechanic, maybe 2. Drama? What kind of drama would that be? Raid groups I’ve been in are pretty laid back and got the job done.

You made this number up.

You made this one up too, didn’t you.

I know that?

I. Know. That. ?

Doubtful, as for most specs the loot is situationally or universally stronger than standard loot.

Opu is not a 70 pull boss unless your entire raid is actually worthless at mechanics. Maybe 20. Maybe.

Everything before Mekka is pretty quick.

Talking about why people mythic raid, it’s a word that fits.

Who made everyone else in this thread the mouthpiece of apparently “99%/80%/86%/ whatever other made up number” of raiders?

Almost every guild I have talked to took over 50 pulls for Op. Most of those guilds are at least 7/9 or 8/9. Guess they don’t count. I guess a MAJORITY of mythic raiding guilds don’t count either. Not everyone has a stake in the world first race. Op is a massive difficulty spike from first 3 which ALL are definitely sub 20 pull bosses especially this late in the tier where you can very easily meet the Grong checks.

My raid guild which is 5/9 mythic Darzalor took 130 pulls to down Opulence lol.

It only took 38 kills to down Conclave though. Go figure.

Of the first 5 bosses in mythic Darzalor I’d rate Opulence as by far the hardest.
