I’ll never understand the mentality people have of needing the best possible gear when they aren’t running the level of content that necessitates having that gear
I’m over here in Classic in all Normal T11 gear and that’s just fine for me because my guild doesn’t raid Heroic
I’m hoping I can get most 15’s timed this season, perhaps a 16 mists/dawn, is that still too low to necessitate myth track gear?
Do you even know what myth track gear is? Or what it drops from? Because it seems like half of the people commenting here don’t
There is no “or”, you don’t get mythic track gear directly from keys, the only way to get mythic track gear from M+ is through the great vault after completing +10s.

The design of the vault goes contrary to everything business science has discovered about employee motivation. In many ways it is just demotivational. But Blizzard clings hard to elitist prejudices about how unique and special videogames are, and how what no one would ever do in the business world to motivate their employees to work better, harder, and longer applies. And every year Ion turns around and blames people who haven’t worked for this company for more than a decade “trained us to think wrong, so it’s not our fault.”

I actually made a thread about this. I sincerely believe blizzard should hire research psychologist consultants (not for therapy, but to understand the players)
They need to better-understand how rewards motivate people. I think they have reduced it to “People like casinos, slot machines are addictive, lets make it a slot machine so people are addicted to our game”
The problem is most people don’t get addicted to gambling, and that’s exactly what this is. It is gambling time for a payoff.
I mean it’s time-gated gambling, it’s not addictive at all, there is no instant return on investment here.
The whole point of the great vault is to slow down progression and keep subs active.

I thought that’s what the coins were for before being disappointed.
If they insist on time gating I would like to see upgrade tokens, to take already-existing gear up to the next tier.
Perhaps you need to time all x-level keys or something, or kill some amount of mythic bosses or a certain boss to unlock them, but then once unlocked the consolation prize in the vault was a token to increase the track of a piece of gear to the next level.
This would increase the dopamine of getting a good drop early on, and even a feeling of “well I can finally upgrade this piece” when the vault has nothing appealing.

I am 100% on par with this idea, I’ve heard it before and it’s great imo, the socket is fun but using a socket on anything that isn’t mythic track doesn’t feel too good.

The sad thing is that disagreeing with your opinion about a video game leads to childish outbursts like this.
When I hit 20k posts the vault will still be a bonus reward and mythic+ will still cap out at heroic drops.
You can’t rely on the vault for anything. It’s a WoW scratcher ticket, and most tickets are losers.
This is why I play what content I enjoy, if that happens to unlock a vault slot opportunity, great. If not, don’t care.

I wouldn’t mind the RNG or having bad weeks if they stopped giving me lower ilvls of the exact items I currently have equipped. Just give me something I don’t have a better version of.
