I got deserter for leaving LFR after 1 boss

That will never exist in lfr, not with 25 people with different lives

It’s really not, if you get a backfill you’re being punished for trying to get the bosses you didn’t get in the backfill

Sometimes people need to leave, you shouldn’t punish the people who fill that spot

… because you left a new raid?

Like just go make something to eat or something.

It is super annoying if you join a LFR and a boss is already dead.

There was a time when you were informed that not all bosses were still standing, they should bring this back.

The current system is especially punishing for tanks and healers, who do carry the weight in LFR and are not able to receive loot.

At that point no one was backfilling, it’s why they changed it

As a healer, I feel it affects me less than a dps who has to wait much longer to get into a LFR run.

The whole system is backwards anyway. The approach should be to reward players for staying in a group, to make them WANT to continue a LFR run like that, not punish them if they don’t want to be there anymore. The latter just makes customers feel resentful.

Because you deserted the raid and left? Seems reasonable to me.

Dps don’t have super long queues, last one was 3 min lol

Think tanks actually have the longest

By this logic no LFR should ever have backfillers join the group. Because if you sign up for a raid (actually no, you sign up for being a tourist visiting one portion of a raid for sightseeing - not the actual raid itself), you should get access to the whole thing you signed up for.

Otherwise you get short-changed and screwed out of a boss.

No, LFR and dungeons shouldn’t operate on the same ruleset in terms of how deserters work.

Managing your time is not the responsibility of the game or other players. If you have to leave mid raid chances are that debuff will be gone when you get back.

You really aren’t. You can feel whichever way you want but you aren’t being punished for joining a raid in progress. Joining an in progress group is a chance you take using auto grouping systems.

Classic playtime padding, they’re desperate. If they put me in a non fresh LFR and I suffer through why on earth do I want to do the other bosses again for no reward after they screwed me out of getting it all done in one shot?

Yes, you are being punished, backfilling is already a huge time waste in that if queues are long you have to wait for another, then when you leave, because there is zero point in killing a boos you’ve already killed, you get slapped with deserter now

And I didn’t mean people leaving to leave shouldn’t get it, but people who backfilled and already killed the the boss

Either that or let us loot again

Punished for leaving an incomplete run yes. NOT for backfilling.

Would be fine going back to MoP and having the “fresh run guarantee” again if they could do it without the abuse this time. (I did some reading after being corrected)

There’s no way to do it, people wouldn’t join backfill, which is why they stopped

So instead you PUNISH people for backfilling by making them waste time

Even just crests, gold, and stones would be enough to be like, yea I’ll clear those bosses again

Maybe the around gear chance

Ironically they did. They got put into 1 in progress, helped finished it. Then queue’d to do the bosses they missed. Should they be forced to stay to do bosses they already did when they can’t get loot? That doesn’t respect the players time.

You get a lot of backfills in dungeons too, all around it made no sense. It was an issue that was a tiny pinhole and they covered it like it was half the boat and a sinking ship

By the way: If you wipe at a LFR boss, you can leave without getting a deserter debuff. In the current LFR wing, the chance to wipe at the second boss is high.

Tbf though, you never run into a situation in dungeons where you get nothing, you can at least still get stones and whatever

Leaving a dungeon mid run. Which is fair. You can try and rebrand all you want.

Remove the number of completed bosses from the pop up. You join a group in progress then next time you get a fresh run. Something like that maybe?

True. Guess I am glad that for now it isn’t an account wide thing. With 65 characters if 1 gets a debuff, I can just go play another
