I flask every raid

Flasking is optional for my guild, but some of our hardcore DPS do it to try and parse for fun. Gbank supplies our MT with Titans, and one of the officers supplies me (the OT) with them as well. Thanks to the new ZG buff and Spirit of Zanza, even those are optional now.

i’d rather not farm gold 6 hours a day to just deal 20% more damage.

Yeah no. Lol

Doing everything you can to improve the raid’s odds of success, of your own volition? Absolutely!

Guilds requiring that you have X number of buffs on you as a prerequisite to even get into the raid? Elitism.

using flasks is not the problem

the problem is requering guild members to use it when is not necessary, it should be encourage but a personal choice

Joining a guild that requires them is also a personal choice, though.

What’s wrong with wanting to form a raid group of like-minded individuals who want to maximize their performance other than you personally don’t want to be in a guild like that?

Why is it a problem that some people require things of their guilds, of which you aren’t even a member?

if you joined a guild knowing that flask is required is not a problem

So which is it? Is it a problem, or is it not? You’ve said both now.

Flasks in Classic are for people who are doing damage/healing meter PvP within the PvE game. Some people are all about being hyper-competitive on every level possible, & wagging the epeen at every opportunity. Winning the meters/parses is more important than utility functions or being a well-rounded team player, so they need the flasks to offset their juice-the-meters/parses-at-any-cost sloppy play.

Using consumes every week has absolutely nothing to do with sacrificing mechanics in favor of higher DPS.

Stop spewing nonsense.

Things I’ve learned in this thread:

Flasking = caring
Not Flasking = not caring

Flasking = maximum effort
Not flasking = only minimal effort

Did I miss anything?

EDIT:
Flasking = Going to college
Not Flasking = Flipping burgers

:cactus:

Buffs save time, except dire maul buffs.

Consumables don’t really save time - unless you can farm 300 gold per hour the time saved in your BWL clear is never enough to compensate the massive loss the guild as a whole takes while preparing for the clear itself.

Except I have seen first-hand how stupid/sloppy healers & dps play when they are juicing the meters for better parses. Even in PvE you can’t escape idiotic PvP.

Stop spewing nonsense.

Aside from the obvious bait here, OP is forgetting an important thing:

It literally isn’t possible for every single raider on a realm to use a Flask. There are not enough Black Lotus spawns available to fulfill that demand, even excluding melee dps.

I care about clearing the raid. As long as that happens, I’m happy.

The term try hard is just coined by lazy people who expect handout and to be rewarded with minimum effort.

They want an A but don’t want to put in the time and study. They want more $ at work but didn’t go to college and want to be paid a white collar salary while folding burritos or brewing low quality crappy “premium” coffee.

They just bringing that attitude to the game.

well the reason they dont study in this analogy is because the test difficulty is that of what you’d find in 4th grade, and they’re 99% sure they’ll pass it with at least a B without even opening the textbook beforehand.

Flasks are not too big a deal for melee yet. They help casters more.

If there was an agility/strength flask that would boost dps we would be all over that.

The raw gold that drops off bosses pays for all of my consumes, so they absolutely save time.

Read again:

Chugging an elixir before the raid doesn’t mean you are “juicing the meters,” especially if by “juicing the meters” you mean sacrificing execution for slightly higher numbers of the meters.

Get a grip.
